Hotel The White Lotus — Hotel in Siddharthanagar

This isn’t a hotel you’d need to be staying in longer than a day or two. It’s conveniently located close to the India Nepal border, and suited us for a rest stop on our journey from Varanasi through to Nepal. I would advise the consider investing in a card machine, as the hotel isn’t really centrally located so our guide was getting cash for us further afield. I would have preferred to have paid for the meals we had here with card personally. The meals were pleasant, we sampled our first taste of genuine Nepali momos and we were all very impressed, despite being a small kitchen the food didn’t take too long to arrive. The rooms were clean and spacious enough, and the WiFi worked just fine. I would recommend this place for a weary traveller that’s come from India who’s traveling onwards, Lumbini is only 45 minutes to an hours drive, but don’t expect the best...

This hotel offered more than what we had expected. We had reached Bhairawa quite late and searched for hotels that could accommodate a group of 6 pax all family members. We were there with our mother who is 78 years old. We needed cosy rooms with soft bed either on the ground floor or the first floor. Despite of being busy the GM Sudhir Pokharel was very gentle and hospitable. While the service was great, his professional hospitality was extremely great. I have been to many hotels in Nepal. This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed. I had booked an air-conditioned room at this hotel. It was working well when the hotel staff took me to the room. Later, the AC was switched off from the reception. The phone in the room was not working as the telephone wire was cut (looked like rats ate that). I had to rely on the fan throughout a hot night. I thought the AC wasn't working due to the power cut. Next day, I complained about the issue at the reception desk. The guy at the reception didn't take it seriously and charged me for an AC room.
