We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. It is a little bit far away from the city centre but a tram station is nearby so it very accessible. The hotel is in a little shopping district (supermarkets, restaurants etc. are close).
Parking is free so that is definitely a big plus.
CHECKIN The Check-in was a little bit troubling as the receptionist said she has just the booking for one room. After mentioning Booking.com 3-4 times she found the other one too. It was not crowded or full and usually the reception should prepare the arrivals at least a day before. But she was nice and answered all the questions we has in a professional way.
ROOM The room itself was quite small but that is their style. Therefore it is cheap so I can't say anything against it. The rooms have little safes and their own themes as a wallpaper. Each room also tells some facts and things that are nice to know (all about the city you are staying at in our case it was "Moskau") A nice little light at the stairs in the room made it easier in the night to go to the bathroom! Good one! The bathroom was so so. Our toilet seat was a little bit loose but it did not matter to us. Something I super dislike (and somehow many hotels are having this style) is the shower cabin. The water is always running out of the cabin so we needed many shower mats to dry the floor. The cabin itself was spacious enough but it didnt keep the water in.
BREAKFAST The breakfast was okay but not really satisfying. The bread tasted old and wasn't fresh. Maybe from the day before. Not many options. They had some fruits which came out of a box and were not freshly cut. Some yoghurts and juices made us happier in the end.
SERVICE They offer bikes to rent (16 Euros per bike per day) if I remember correctly. Thats very nice but in the end more expensive than taking the tram for 24 hours (which was around 8,50). I would recommend it still (or maybe taking e scooters?) The hotel also sells drinks and even gives free snacks away! Super cool and great idea !!
CHECK-OUT The checkout was easy and simple. We gave them our parking ticket and they gave us the exit ticket. All in all it was a good stay but some things could be a little bit better to make the stay...
Read moreI had such a wonderful stay at this little hotel. The staff is simply amazing! I was very surprised and pleased to meet Juan, who is from Ecuador where I currently reside. He was so very helpful in everything, and I enjoyed being able to practice Spanish with him. Atilla, who worked in the evenings, was so funny and nice. I'm unsure how to spell the names of the lovely ladies who work there, but each and every one of them was super fantastic, as was the gentleman who I think is the manager. I neglected to ask his name, so sorry, but he was very helpful in pointing me to the shop where I could buy a transit pass.
My room was very quiet and warm, despite the cold and rainy days. The bed was comfy, as were the pillows. The breakfast was quite lovely, served from 7 to 11, with a large selection of breads, meats, cheeses, cereals, boiled eggs, pancakes, yogurt, fruit cups, juices, coffees and teas, and I wish I could have stuffed more of it in my tummy. The hotel offers a great selection of beer and other beverages, and they'll even allow you to buy beer elsewhere and put it in their cold case, as the room didn't have a fridge.
The shopping plaza in which the hotel is located is full of great shops and places to eat. The tram stop is just a few steps away, as are bus stops (but I didn't use them). There's a beautiful lake a short walk away, great place for cycling or walking. The lobby area is so comfortable for hanging out having coffee (try the hot chocolate, super) or a drink, chatting with staff, etc. It's available all night long, so if you're a night owl, you'll love it.
It's a bit far from city center, but the tram takes one there easily, if one doesn't mind a 40-minute ride. I enjoyed seeing the sights while on the tram, spotting things I wanted to return to and explore.
There wasn't a closet in the room, but I'd brought my own hangers and had no trouble hanging up all my shirts on the pegs provided. I wish there'd been a little desk where I could use my computer, but I was fine standing and using the platform behind the bed.
Many thanks to all of you at Citiez for making my first visit to Amsterdam such a memorable one. I'll be...
Read moreI stayed for 4 nights in the hotel. Overall the stay was excellent. The rooms were superb where everything was clean and proper, if you need to charge your phone and another device there is two plugs at head level plus a reading light that does not overly bright or dim but at the perfect level. The one major annoyance is the size of the room, lack if tables to put your things on and the bright light on the entrance door that I could not figure out how to flick it off. The location was decent with a HEMA and a small old-fashioned shopping mall with a plathitude of choices for your shopping. The transport options of the hotel is excellent for you who want to travel around in town where you have access to two different Tram stations nearby the hotel which gives you direct access to the city center. One of the most wonderful things in the hotel was the wonderful hotel staff that spoke fluent English, Dutch and I'm fairly sure I heard them speak other languages such as French, so communicating is not a problem at all. The wonderful thing about the staff is that they also can provide you with transportation and attraction tickets at discounted prices and to have some icing on the cake they are also well experienced locals that can give you tips on destinations in the city. There is no food except breakfast served in the hotel and if you want a good delivery service ask at the reception they can proivde you with one. The breakfast was what you would expect for 10 € the basics and juices, it is still a decent option if you don't want to go out to buy and the sitting area is spacious but mind you after 9 am you won't find most of the "tasty" items as everyone wants them.
TL;DR it's a excellent spot to stay at if you want an affordable and nice place to stay!
4/5 because of room sizes...
