We absolutely loved the food! I would love to see more variety though! The Levant cuisine is very rich. HOWEVER, the service was bad! Nothing personal here but I care and I would like to share my honest opinion. A waiter/waitress should know what goes in the food, they should be aware of at least the main ingredients of the served items. Another point should be the communication, a smile, a story, a joke, a special moment, a host/waiter with positive attitude, all that is crucial for the success of any restaurant! Train people on better communications, on how to handle a complaint effectively, on how to solve an issue without making the customer feel bad for asking for something legit to be fixed! Train them on how to manage their stress on the floor when orders might get overwhelming! The things that happened to us during the service: We were welcomed by "do you have a reservation?" Nothing else was said! Hosts were very pushy to take our order as long as we sat. Bread took a long time after the starters were served, so we were basically just waiting and looking at the dishes! - better to sync the timing. A host didn't know if the juice is usually freshly squeezed - the pomegranate juice was really bad and didn't taste fresh and very diluted (for a 9 euro glass of juice, anyone would expect something proper, right?). I was given some "B face" for asking to pack things to take away.
A good ambience and good food would feel less vibrant and lively if the people working there couldn't contribute to the setting with their own proactive energy. I hope you take my feedback positively - and I want you to know that I'm not a Karen! just a hospitality expert.
I'll visit again as I'm exploring that part of Amsterdam nowadays and I hope I'm going to rank up the...
