Remuera Motor Lodge & Camper Van — Hotel in Ōrākei

This place is not good!! We are so unhappy with our stay. We booked a cabin for two nights. Upon opening the cabin it smelled strongly of dampness and mould. The wooden table and chairs also had black mould on them. Mattress was damp. Walls were disgusting with mosquito splats, hand/foot prints, and unknown fluids scattered all around. There was rubbish on the floor and we found cockroaches and slugs shortly after arriving. so it was obviously not cleaned just (hopefully) had fresh sheets. I asked for another room but none available - so fair enough. So we put up with the room, but we all woke up feeling very sick with sore throats and heavy breathing from the mould. We felt better after getting fresh air. I paid for our visit, but in hindsight should have questioned it as we feel scammed of $170 for what was a pretty bad experience. I kindly let the receptionist know how our visit was when leaving, and she didn’t apologise, just said she would tell the manager. Pretty dismissive and did not care. Really unimpressed with this place and would not recommend staying here unless changes are made to improve. The pool was the only good thing about our stay!...

Such a beautiful scenery, the guy Kevin and the receptionist very polite also the kiwi man nice guy. BUTTTTT the Asian Lady Manager 🤦🏽‍♀️ So rude and Bad customer service skills. Cleaning service was terrible Dirty. Due to heavy rain the carpet got wet came through under the front door! And she wouldn’t allow us to move rooms just gave us old towels to put over it 😠! That was on the third day of staying there. I had to argue with her just to get a broom or vacuum which she said she couldn’t give me to clean the dam 2bedroom unit we’ve been staying with my 3 children ages from 4,6,7 for the last 3days because it’s level3… she then did a contactless drop outside our door came with a DUST PAN 🤦🏽‍♀️🥴…. P.s we were planning a return stay for this coming long weekend 🤷‍♀️ LETS JUST SAY WERE NEVER RETURNING THERE AGAIN!

IF U OWN A MOTEL AND WANT TO OPEN DURING LEVEL3 AUCKLAND ….. USE UR HEAD MAKE A PLAN!! HAVE CLEANING EQUIPMENT AVAILABLE FOR THE CLIENTS ESPECIALLY THOSE WITH KIDS STAYING!!

HEALTH HAZARD. Room #3 was pungent with cigarette smoke and mold. The staff were kind and understanding when we asked to be moved to another room. Second room (#6) smelt just as bad, if not more moldy. There were dead cockroaches and visible mold in the bathroom and around the decaying window frames. The pictures are very misleading and the rooms are extremely run down. Our room was advertised as having a bedroom but the door frame to that bedroom did not have a door on it. The wifi was so patchy and slow it might as well have not existed. We're a pretty easy-going couple and have stayed in some doozies before but the mold smell was so suffocating we decided to leave for our health and lose out on our entire payment, no refund.
