Fish is always fresh with great batter, chips are rarely generous in portion but are cooked well and crispy, however I must say that the dumplings were the singular worst dumplings I have EVER had in my life! Can't actually believe that a place as expensive and "premium" as this would actually serve such utter crap as what we received tonight. We ordered beef dumplings which sound good on paper but were disastrous in person. For $17.50 we received a mere 6 dumplings which were comprised of the thickest, glueiest, nastiest dumpling wrappers imaginable along with a coarse, fatty, flavourless beef filling inside. These inedible non-delicacies were served alongside small pottles of soy and chilli sauce (which were fine) along with an absolutely revolting side of supposed Asian "salad." The whole combo was thoroughly NASTY. I highly recommend avoiding this grotesque offering if ever ordering from F&C in future. Their spring roll, which we have also had on the odd unfortunate occasion, is equally as gluggy as the dumplings. Same with the "fish cake." The best fish and chip shop ever! Upmarket AND good value. The fish is always beautifully fresh and the batter fresh and light. You can sit down and dine in the shop at a big long table adorned with fashion magazines. If you want to cook for yourself at gom Try try the outstanding fish pie which you can take home and cook in the oven. Also I recommend their home made Panko crumbs. We ended up placing two orders in one night as the food was phenomenal! Such lovely friendly service and felt like such clean fish and chips. I loved seeing the fish fillets in the cooler display too so you can actually see how fresh they are, we ordered Gurnard, cheese burger, Cajun fish tacos, homemade fish cake, chips and wedges…and then came back for doughnuts. A very happy family...
