I did not travel with a car to the city, so the 15 minute walk to the transport hub was comfortable and straight forward, even with a large bag. The room was far bigger than I expected, with good insulation keeping the noise from other areas down. It had a large bed, table, office area, seperated bathroom and stove-top kitchen. The staff were awesome and friendly, both in giving advice and when arriving, departing, and at all other stages. They also provide you with fresh milk upon check-in. Breakfast is available at a good price, and is well portioned. Be warned if you get the continental breakfast that it's not "select which options on this list you'd like so if one isn't there, we can substitute it", it's "all of these please". The in-room kitchen was well furnished and had I been staying longer, would have been perfect for making small meals. The guest guide had a lot of handy information about which area restaurants delivered or did take out. I'm annoyed at myself for failing to try the bathtub as it looked deep enough for me to lie properly in it with the water up high. The bodywash and incidentals were a nice alternate to my usual soap. They also have a good system in place for you to alert housekeeping as to if you intend to re-use towels. They have a few discreet signs up asking for consideration around water useage which I appreciate from an ecological standpoint. The room I stayed in was outfitted for someone with mobility limitations, including a fold-down seat for the shower and a railing for the bath and toilet. The ground access was great after a day at the zoo.
One of the few things that made it a little inconvenient for me personally was plug and lightswitch placement around the bed, but those are not easily remedied, and nothing to dock a stay for. I didn't check but I think if you had trouble getting at any of the plugs, the staff would help.
You also need a key in the room for the lights, but I think if you have more than one guest they have more than one key...
Read moreWe stayed 29thApril. This has been so far the absolute best place we have stayed so far in our 12 days of a 22 day stay in the North Island which we commenced in Auckland.|Very very clean, very roomy, excellent friendly managers (I think they were the owners).|I have a very very high standard when it comes to cleanliness and this place was right up there. I check behind curtains, the back of lounges, under the bed as well as the usual bathroom checks etc.|The only thing I can fault is that there was no full lenght mirror but I am not letting that take away from 5 stars...but owners please take note.|Highly recommend...but just check there is not a footy game on as it is next to the stadium unless you are going to the game....heaven for you|Loved our stay here.|Highly...
Read moreWe cannot be happier. Some friends and I came to stay over a weekend. Such a clean and tidy place, and the staff were the most friendliest, in particular, Michelle. Michelle was who checked us in and from the get go greeted us with a lovely smile. It’s rare now a days to get such kind people!!! Checking in was a breeze, we given all important information on arrival. We later on wanted to go into town for dinner, we approached Michelle about it and she gave us some recommendations as well as directions! We were so grateful as we weren’t entirely familiar with this newly set out town. 1000 percent would stay here again, hands down of the the best customer service. Thank you so...
