I am content about our stay 7 night stay. We didn’t expect much for this location as it was the closest to our family. Coming from Melbourne and having traveled the world and different hotels. My only highlight for this stay is the bed linen was clean and I thought the towels were clean until I saw a long black hair that was not mine drop from my towel. Also don’t use the plates or cutlery as I will post a photo of what they use and what they expect us to use when we clean it (dirty dish blush with hair in it and black at the roots🤮). Maybe always use slippers on the carpet.. if their cutlery is like this, then I can’t imagine the bacteria I can’t see that is on the carpet, who knows if they ever steam clean the carpets. Bed LINEN WAS CLEAN.. so at least we could sleep in peace... however the walls are thin 🙄🙄🙄 and I heard the sounds of the couple next door I wish I had ear plugs... absolutely GROSS, it would have been good to turn my tv up but it only goes up to a certain volume 😂😳! The free wifi tickets they gave us got used up too quickly and saw our selfs everyday asking reception for new wifi codes. The staff seemed nice. NO AIR CONDITIONING— try to stay on ground floor!! We were blessed to stay here while we had the cool weather at night. Parking is $25 a night otherwise there’s street parking but if you don’t park earlier than 10pm then you will end up parking a bit far and looks a bit shady. I was happy to get a hotel like this for it’s location- as I say again. If I didn’t need to be close to the family then I would have been extremely disappointed with my stay. But once again I know this area and you can’t expect a 4star hotel for this area... it wouldn’t be worth paying the price. We paid $530AUD for our 7 night stay from the 1st of Jan. Every other hotel that was also further away (some closer to the city) we were looking nothing under $750 but we needed to stay close to Mangere bridge. I didn’t take photos of the rest of the room as it looked fine. Overall...
Read moreThis is the worst accomodation i’ve ever been to. I’ve travelled to 62 countries around the world stayed in hostels, on park benches, beaches and bus stops and Park Avenue Residence is still worst than that.||Firstly the neighbourhood is unsafe during daylight hours with guests and neighbours openly crowding the entrance and blocking the front path.||Be prepared to be asked to pay a $200 security bond at check in. No bond=no key. My accomodation is paid in full by my employer, however the receptionist was insistent the payment be made or the booking would be cancelled with no refund. My employer had paid in full for 4 nights, the accomodation has no amenities like other hotels. No mini bar. No air conditioning. No cooking appliances. Nothing!||No restaurant available and other than a microwave no way to cook food.|I called last week to confirm they provided a chargeback option to the room which they assured me they did. They lied, they DO NOT!!!!||If your idea of clean white towels is by one large hole in the center and a suspect brown smear down one side then you’ve hit the jack pot. The other town contained someone else’s hair woven into the threading.|I returned to reception to ask them to replace the towels and was shocked when replacement towels were available for an additional $20.|After explaining to the receptionist numerous times that the towels were to replace the ones left in the room and not an addition to them she finally agreed to replace them.||The service is something they should be ashamed of. The receptionist is rude, condescending, unhelpful and dismissive.||The services reflected totally contradicts everything my company stands for as a brand. They have been removed from our ‘preferred supplier’ list and we will no longer be using...
Read moreWe booked this place for one night prior to flying to Hong Kong....my first thoughts were oops...made a mistake here. The lovely reception guy Andrew advised us not to go to any local bars as they’re very rough....great start. So we went up to our room and the fire alarm rang. A very good alarm too. Someone was smoking in their room. 1500 fine for the culprit...we went to the nearby shop and got a few bits and then stayed in for the evening. The area was a bit rough....and I could understand why you wouldn’t go out. On the up side we both had a lovely relaxing night doing nothing. The room was clean and a comfortable bed. Microwave, fridge, pots and pans. Make sure you get an en suite. The taxi arrived on time for the airport which was 44 dollars about 6 Miles. Weirdly I enjoyed our stay but would look elsewhere probably closer to the airport and somewhere with a/c. Shouldn’t be such...
