Read moreI stayed at this motel in 2017 but just recently I received a request from google to do a review so I did...at first I just gave them a star rating with no comment which they have chosen to question (their record keeping is utterly atrocious as I learnt from sad experience - they say i last stayed there 8 years ago,? I don't think so lol) when I could have mentioned (and now will) how I paid in cash for my three night stay upon signing in and getting my room key.....at the end of my stay I dropped my key off at reception with no problem, but sometime later when I was driving away I received a call from a staff member at the motel accusing me of leaving without paying my bill! To say I was shocked would be an understatement, but then after explaining to said staff member that I had paid in full upon arrival she argued the point with me and refused to believe me! Even though they realised their error, I at no stage received an apology from them for their embarrassing accusations (I was driving with my phone on speaker and I had business acquaintances and my son with me) so Green Gables were quick to accuse and embarrass paying customers. but not so quick to admit they were in the wrong and behave graciously! So yes, when it came up on my phone to do a review, even at this stage, I was happy to do so and I feel the one star is actually more than they deserved based on the truly unpleasant way my stay ended! Noisey neighbour's, drinking, 'smoking' and loud music. phoned reception to ask for assistance with noise control, assistance proved futile, group calmed down for all of a minute before they then decide to urinate and 'smoke' near my door, and get louder. When I finally decided to pack up to leave and informed management of my decision to relocate, I was treated like I was an inconvenient brat. Was clear that my business was not priority for them. Thankfully they agreed to refund my stay-(supposed to be there for 3 nights) I recommend if looking to book here to phone in advance to see who the other Guests may be during your stay. when traveling We are paying for a restful night after all. I may have just struck a random busy night.
Edit, 'my interaction with them earlier' as you stated in your response is another example of the uncomfortable situation I was faced with. The other Guests walking into my room uninvited to offer me alcohol. I was taken aback by this, I was polite to them as to not offend or upset anyone but I certainly did not interact with them.
