Sweet Vanilla Kitchen — Restaurant in North Island

I have been coming to Sweet Vanilla for two years and every time I'm in, I am always STILL so taken back and in orr of the options for easily some of the best food I have tasted! The options are endless and that's just the food on display. On top of that the menu is seriously tasty and the baking is out of this world.

My kids absolutely love coming here, the toy box is full to the max for them and they are always excited about what special muffin they will get (after the tasty savory first of course). Not to mention their fluffys.

The popularity of Sweet Vanilla means it can get busy fast, but the staff work non stop off their feet to serve you the best they can. It is a cute intimate setting and you are able to book tables which helps. On two separate occasions I even witnessed quite rude customers and watched them handle the situation with composure and professionalism.

My coffee is consistently perfect and I love the incentive for a better environment, rewarding people with cheaper coffee if they have their own cups. Plus free coffees every five!

Overall my review is an overdue one and prompted today by yet another new tasty addition to the food cabinet AND once again awesome service by the incredibly hard working staff. Topped off with my perfect coffee from their awesome barista!

Had a great first visit at SVK. We went at 2:00pm on a Saturday and although it was very busy there were still plenty of tables inside. Was really impressed with the cabinet selection, particularly the amount of keto options. Great to see a cafe that offers diabetic friendly options. For lunch we ordered the keto white chocolate brownie, keto white chocolate pistachio cookie, keto Jaffa cheesecake and the Whittaker’s caramel brownies. The white chocolate brownie was dry, not very sweet and had no white chocolate. Maybe it was melted in? Couldn’t taste it. The cookie also didn’t taste like much. However the Jaffa cheesecake was probably the best thing we’ve ever eaten in our lives. The texture was amazing, jiggly and fluffy, not too rich or creamy. Loved the light orange flavour combined with the rich chocolatey base. Need to enquire if they do whole ones for events. The caramel chunk brownie was also incredible. Amazing fudgy texture. Not a hint of dryness and the perfect balance of flavours. Service was alright. Took 15 minutes for our cabinet food to arrive. The waitress at the till wasn’t particularly friendly. Would definitely go back for more cheesecake and to try something...

The name says it all, just a little but bustling, sweet coffee house on the corner of Pretoria Street and Kings Crescent with its distinctive blue and white-striped awning beckoning to all passersby to drop in for a friendly visit. Service is generally great especially if you can avoid the peak traffic hours (including Saturday hours) when finding a convenient parking space can be challenging.

Large cakes with lavish toppings and luscious fillings, and sunny savouries fill their cabinets and devilishly assail your senses while on the counter, muffins, slices, cup cakes and other wicked treats beckon irresistibly. So if you're on a weight loss diet enter at your peril!

The interior is tiny with a small courtyard and an inner room, and is always packed but hey, the atmosphere is electric and everybody seems to enjoy the cosy buzz! If you can't find room you can resort to takeaways which the staff will obligingly pack for you.
