I have stayed here for work a couple of times before. They were tolerable at best. Usually I book only a couple of weeks before travelling, so this is one of few available places with vacancy.|After my latest stay however, I sent an email to my company to request they do not book me in this place again.|During my latest trip, these were the issues: |The first room I was allocated on the surface looked ok as i entered it, but it had no work desk or table to undertake computer work, which I usually spend 4 hours at night doing.|The bathroom under the sink there was black mould on the wall.|After removing the hygiene seal from the toilet, i was met with a big brown cr@p left by the previous.guest. Hygiene seal? Yeah nah. And it was a reflection of the rest of the place.|I asked for another room which I was given.|The second room was literally 10 meters or less from the train line, although that didn’t bother me. There was no desk, but a table and chair. However the table was disgustingly dirty, the varnish had worn off and there were stains all other it, and it was sticky. Absolutely yuk. For three nights of the week, there were very rowdy guests in the above room, who from like 10pm to about 1am, were banging a ball against the wall, playing some sort of ball game. Literally drove me nuts and could not sleep. When I advised the front desk after the second night and told them due to to|He noise I got no sleep until after 1 am, they said “yeah i didn’t either cause i was working”|This place advertises on google as a 4 star hotel. However, this is very much a place you do not judge by its exterior. A closer inspection beyond the façade does indicate some areas which have become deteriorated.||Very good onsite parking was available. Reception was very warm and welcoming, in a modern area which provided considerable local information. The Motor Lodge also advertised itself as having a restaurant, which was later found to be no longer the case. It is also located alongside a State Highway, but no road noise could be heard (unless the doors were open).||Room itself was spacious, containing comfortable seating and tasteful furnishings, which also included a comfortable firm bed. Also has a kitchenette that does however contribute to an overall general dated look. Bathroom is of a good size, and contains an excellent array of complimentary toiletries.||Well located for access into the Wellington CBD (using the train), or large local shopping centres (on foot or by car).||Economically, it is considerable value for money. It is also pet friendly, so it is definitely a place I shall be returning to whenever travelling...
