Good World Chinese Restaurant & Takeaway — Restaurant in Wellington

I don’t usually leave reviews, but after today’s experience, I felt I had to. I visited with my family for yum cha, and my little niece had the smorgasbord.

Firstly, the yum cha menu was very limited, with few options to choose from and an overall poor selection. The yum cha we did order was below average and lacked flavour, and the smorgasbord was also limited in variety.

Only my niece was eating from the smorgasbord—everyone else was having yum cha. Despite this, both staff members repeatedly stressed that we couldn’t eat from her plate or we’d each be charged $18. It was clear my niece was the only one eating it, and we found their tone rude and unnecessary.

Food was very disappointing, I recommend next door or somewhere else. I havent been here for 10 years. My whanau and I ordered so much food, spent over $200 for only 3 people, mostly we took it away as we were being polite not to complain... I contested only but ONE item which was toooo salty, had a bite, it was sent back, I said can you remake it? They said my only option was takeaway for the item I tried lol OMG!! If you don't like the item, it's not for takeaway? Anyways I still paid the $7.50. Only the service was lovely...

The smorgasbord food was stale and the workers delayed refilling the stations when they were empty. The yum Cha selection was also very limited, and lacked flavour too. My family and I found the staff very rude and accusatory, reiterating numerous times that every person on our table would need to pay for the smorgasbord if we were eating from it too (only my little niece was eating from it while the rest of us had yum Cha).
