Where to begin… the location of our Saturday evening dinner experience was decided upon by our daughter, as her choice to celebrate her birthday. Knowing nothing of Grazie - Lower Hutt (having nominated not to look-up reviews), I knew we were in for a magnificent culinary celebration the moment we set foot through the door, being welcomed by what can and should only be described as an impactful authentic bombardment of pure delight that instinctively tickled the sensory palate!!
The kids were unwavering in their decisiveness to sample Italian classic pizza and with every vigorous mouthful of enjoyment, we all knew this was most certainly ticking all the boxes. For the (slightly more) sophisticated appetite and desirability, the adults opted for the Lumina Lamb Bolognaise and the Truffle & Creamy Blue Cheese Rigatoni….. well, to say that these flavours were authentic, or hitting the key notes of pure culinary delight with every return to the plate for more; would simply be insufficient.
Grazie - Lower Hutt, had set a benchmark of remaining truly authentic to the tastes, flavours, and tradition of preparation, sensory enticement and patron delight in paying homage to Italian heritage!
I guess, in short… we will be back.
I’ve been keen to try Grazie and finally got there last night. The wine list is quite impressive but if you’re solo the by the glass options are a little limited. The food met with thumbs up from us all - the fish of the day (salmon); pappadelle and ravioli were delicious. A nice touch was the accompanying focaccia roll with the pasta dishes. We all managed to steal a few of the moreish duck fat potatoes our salmon eating pal couldn’t manage. The pear and rocket salad was a little bland, lacking a zing from balsamic and with a rather tasteless pear. This was the only real blot on the meal. The service was initially a little patchy but then stepped up significantly. Only one if us managed to try dessert and reported the tiramisu did not disappoint! It’s all very shiny and new but maybe just a little brightly lit and I imagine it could seem cold with the massive expanses of windows on a chilly Wellington night. We really enjoyed our meal and will definitely...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at your Italian restaurant, and I must say, it was a truly delightful experience. The chicken pizza was simply amazing, with a perfect blend of flavors and a deliciously crispy crust. The Arancini balls were also a highlight, with a creamy and flavorful filling that left me wanting more.
But the real star of the show was the pasta seafood linguine. The combination of fresh seafood, al dente pasta, and a rich tomato sauce was absolutely divine. Each bite was bursting with flavor, and I couldn't help but savor every mouthful.
I would highly recommend Grazia to anyone looking for an authentic Italian dining experience. The food is exceptional, the service is top-notch, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. Whether you're craving a classic pizza, indulging in some savory Arancini balls, or diving into a plate of mouthwatering seafood linguine, Grazia is the...
