I recently had lunch here with my sister and her daughter. Love this Cafe, Restaurant & Bar. The service was great, very friendly. The food was good. I ordered the Chunky Seafood Chowder with sweet peach tea. The chowder was piping hot, creamy, rich with a good amount of chunky seafood, however only downside, it could've done with a little bit more seasoning, the two piece of toast that came with it was great, not buttered but it would be nice if there was a little butter on the side so I have that option. The sweet tea, was amazing, fresh and not overly sweet. My niece ordered the ham and cheese toastie with chips. She ordered two. The Toasties were a little bit on the small side but overall she loved it. My sister ordered the beef nachos, it looked amazing even though she waited a for a while before it came out, we were almost done with our food when it was finally brought out. The nachos was served on a hot plate which was placed on a board. She was told to be careful as the plate was hot however when she got to eat the nachos it was lukewarm. The highlight would be the desserts. Both myself and my niece ordered the carrot cake and WOW just a delight on the pallet. The serving was very generous and loved every bite! My sister ordered the strawberry cheese cake. Her assessment, it was creamy, delightful and it just melted in your mouth with every bite! Overall I enjoyed the atmosphere, the service and food. Would recommend to anyone to go...
Read moreThe waitress seemed disinterested, we waited awhile and it wasn't till we went to go to the counter that she said she'd come take our order. Once we ordered there was no follow up to see if everything was ok or if we wanted any more drinks (drinks were finished by the time our food came), didn't even take the empty cups away. Hot chocolate flavour wise was nice but was luke warm and the iced coffee was bitter. I had the waffles with bacon & banana. 100% sure these are the waffles you can buy in a packet at pak n save and reheat yourself for $6. They were very average, overly sweet and stodgy. The bottom waffle had been slightly burnt but the burnt side hidden in the middle. There was no syrup by the time you got to the bottom waffle so it just tasted dry and burnt. The bacon & banana was nice though. Husband ordered a big breakfast and it was ok but some of it seemed to have been sitting around as it was cold (kranskys & hash brown) but the eggs were hot & fresh. Once we finished we were chatting for a little bit till we left, no one came to clear our plates or see if we wanted anything else. For the $$$ it was a very...
Read moreFood here is good but the experience of dining there does not match. Table service was not great. They might be better at smaller group bookings. I went there with a large group of 18 adults and 10 kids for a birthday. One of the waitresses there was screechy and snappy. I'm guessing the numbers might have made her nervous and she possibly buckled under that pressure. People there were not making any big demands or being rude because it was a set menu and there were no special dietary requests, and no one wanted to make a fuss on someone's birthday but she just seemed uncomfortable and nervous the whole time. It's a pity because other workers were more welcoming. She seemed to be in charge so it coloured the experience for me. I'm sure if you went there with a small group, you'd be fine. Apart from the burnt seafood chowder for entree, my steak was good and I tasted someone's ribs, and they were good too. If you have thick skin and prefer food over fine service, I would...
