Asian Grocery Hastings — Local services in North Island

Great male owner, thank for great experience I purchased "Nong il Kim chi" in this store. then i opened the lid to use that. The Kimchi had some little white germ spot on top and that has really bad odor as well. So i visited the store to exchange. "I" said this Kimchi is spoiled, so i want to exchange. "The owner" answer after checking the product "this Kimchi doesn't have problem, this is cheap kimchi, so it's normal" So "i" re-answer i have used this company kimchi for over 2 years, even white germ spot is not common sense. owner answer(yelling): The white spot is salt!!! if you think it has problem, contact to this company. Hey owner, Kimchi is wet product, if you have kids, ask to them what's going to be happened salt meet with water. and if you have product issue in pak'n save, where you go? maybe you will contact to company. But this is NZ, Normal customer will head to pak'n save customer service. I understand product issue, But your action was so rude.how yelling and throw the product front of customer? even i brought up receipt and tried to talk...

Absolutely love this place. The Hawkes Bay is woefully lacking in good food, so it's really nice to have a good wee Asian supermarket. Like all places that import Asian foods , they can run out of things and sometimes it takes a while to get it back in. That's just the nature of the beast and not something to complain about. My only gripe is how little room there is. They could remove an entire row if shelving - as some shelves have the same stuff on both sides? - and there might actually be room to pass people, rather than having to go all the way around like you...

My two Asian guests for two weeks were cooking a meal, and needed ingredients we could only get from this shop they said. So we purchased Panda oyster sauce, Beksul toasted sesame oil and Bulogi sauce. I had the standard supermarket varieties of both the oyster sauce and the toasted sesame oil. The difference was amazing. I now know why it is called oyster sauce as the zinc and mineral components are clear. All the ingredients are delicious and I will shop again there for those...
