During the 40 days we've been in New Zealand we've stayed in over 20 places, almost all have been great but our three nights at Hahei B&B have been exceptional. From the moment you arrive to the moment you depart Sue and Phil go to extraordinary lengths to make your stay as comfortable and stress free as possible. The room was tastefully furnished and well equipped, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was spotless with high end appliances and the breakfasts were wonderful. Their advice about where to eat, where to visit and when was invaluable and they were as interested in what you'd done each day as they were in giving you advice. It helps that it's walkable to the beach and the village pub and restaurant. Their provision of beach/pool towels was welcome (as were the spades for digging your pool at Hot Water Beach!) and the pool was a tranquil retreat at the end of a busy day. In summary, Hahei B&B is run by two people who obviously enjoy running a B&B and want their guests to have the best possible experience of their corner of North Island and I can’t recommend it too highly.
PS sorry there aren’t any photos - we were having such a great time that taking photos was the last thing...
Read moreThis place is absolutely amazing, the room we had was very clean and comfortable, even the bed was so comfy I had the best night's sleep during my month long holiday. Sue & Phil are wonderful hosts, it was like leaving friends when we left. The breakfasts are really good, and you only had to ask for something and if they had it, you received it. The gardens are wonderful just to sit and relax in. Good recommendations to visit from Phil, and Sue we really did enjoy the Driving Creek Railway although the roads were a little it scary at times. If ever we go back to New Zealand we would love to visit you again and we would recommend this Bed & Breakfast to anyone. Thanks again for a wonderful three days. Kathleen & Tony Ball ...
Read moreWe had a lovely experience at The Hahei B&B! Phil and Sue, the hosts, were great conversationalist and provided both a superior room and an excellent tasty breakfast (with your choices taken into account). We appreciated their dinner recommendations as we had only planned ahead for one dinner. The grounds and pool were quite fine and the walk to the beach was short (and at the end of the street was a really good restaurant, The Church, the one meal we had pre-planned, also highly recommended). Hahei itself was comfortable and not too crowded, with access to the very nice beach and the bus or an hour’s walk to Cathedral Cove. We spent three nights and were very pleased. Highly...
