Kapiti Gateway Motel - Waikanae — Hotel in North Island

John and Francis are the most amaizing hosts ever, nothing is a problem and with them both going through a massive career change only 6 months ago (October 2023), they are both doing an amazing job in their new venture. With the motel going through an update and its proximity to the motorway and Wellington, it makes the perfect place to stage yourself for that trip to or from the Cook Straight Ferries or for corporates doing business in the city that just want to be out of town. With restaurants, supermarkets, busses and train all within walking distance and the beach only being a 5 minute drive away, this is almost the perfect location. This was a very convenient motel, close to Charles Fleming Retirement Village as well handy to shops, but was a lot smaller than we had expected. It was clean and comfortable, but with a queen and a single bed in the room, it would have been difficult to swing a cat in. Another short-coming was the absence of a table. ||The hosts were friendly and efficient, but we thought the continental breakfasts @ $16.00/head were a bit steep.||Nobody had warned us about the proximity of the railway, though admittedly, we were not really aware of the trains after 11.00pm, but it would have been nice...

An absolute gem 💎 if your looking for a comfy cosy place to stay with friendly service and atmosphere. Local to supermarket restaurants Village shops within walking distance from the motel. Car parking provided. Has a pool and spa facilities if your a lover of water and relaxation 🌊👍🏻 we will be back to stay again.
