We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment after arriving in NZ that afternoon from Australia, into Wellington. It was an easy drive from Wellington - approx. 1.5 - 2 hours. The property is on the older side but is well set up with a full kitchen, own outdoor courtyard, lounge room with a large TV with SKY. Our stay was comfortable and parking was at our door. The motel would be great for a beach holiday with the family as there is plenty of room and it has a relaxed feel about it.||The owner Oliver was very hospitable and took me for a tour of the unit and explained where everything was.||The only negative was our neighbours who arrived not long after us. We were relaxing and enjoying a drink and nibbles in our courtyard, when a group of blokes arrived into the unit next to us and promptly put the TV on full blast with the footy and came out the back and lit up. Unfortunately we couldn't stay outside as it stunk of smoke and was no longer relaxing. We also had to close our door because the cigarette smoke was wafting into our room. ||The room rate is realistic and affordable. ||Apart from the disruptive neighbours, we enjoyed our overnight stay and...
Read moreChose this motel because it wasn’t too far north of Wellington after arriving on the InterIslander ferry and it’s positive TripAdvisor reviews. |Met the owner Oliver on arrival. He was very welcoming, even handing us chocolates. |Our studio room was tiny and quite dated. It was clean and reflected the budget rate charged. There was everything you needed in our little room ie new microwave, jug, toaster etc. Great. |Bed was a little lumpy and I found it difficult to get comfortable. |However it was the unintended noise from the adjoining units that was the deal breaker of our stay. You could hear thumping when guests simply walked around their room, loud creaking of closing doors, flushing of their toilet etc. Our neighbours were considerate, but the building itself is just old and needs upgrading/soundproofing. |Location of motel is fabulous. Short walk to beach and...
Read moreCould do with air con in the room. Being summer period & so muggy at night leaving the door a jar, is not a good idea. On my arrival at the office, I wasn't sure if I was walking into the Kapiti Resene paint shop or the Hotel Reception office - there were can's of paint pile up in front of reception desk - not a good sight for customers to see (I saw the can of paint before I notice the receptionist at the desk). But hey the shower was nice & clean bed was comfy - and thank you for the Hershey nuts it help with the Kapiti women's triathlon I was competing in. Next year (yes next year) I'll book the room with the spa in it.. I wonder how much extra would that cost - Kia ora to the dude behind the can of paint...
