Matariki Motor Lodge — Hotel in North Island

Amazing! I have stayed in a lot of places but this comes an incredibly close 2nd to a 5 star hotel. I am blown away by the standard of the motor lodge. The fact they have dvds and Netflix was a MASSIVE bonus. Usually you never get to see much on tv when you go somewhere this place has it all. The guest book was so informative and unfortunately I didn't get to meet the pets but would have loved to. I love how they introduced them and the easy sign in and drop off of the key was so easy. The bed was so comfortable and the sheets were amazing soft not stiff like most other places. The amenities in the room was amazing. Easy parking, quiet, warm. Definitely 100% would stay again! Absolutely fantastic place. The place was spotless when we got here last night. We were there from the 31st May-2nd June 24. Everything was in order. We were in the Executive apartment and were 4 of us. The bedroom had a huge bed with individual towels, hand towels, tv, wardrobe, side tables etc. the lounge had 2 single beds and a whole list of amenities. Sheets were clean, beds were comfortable and we couldn’t have asked for better. They had Tea, coffee, hot chocolate and even packs of cookies. Studio unit was very clean, bed and pillows soft like clouds and unit well insulated as very little road noise heard despite being near the road. Very grateful the 2 units were held for us that we booked by phone on our travels there from New Plymouth during heavy rain and through roadworks with phone reception dropping out as all other motels were booked out on the town. Thankyou also to owners/managers for tolerating our parking issues with a Chevy suburban station wagon towing a well laden transport trailer. Highly recommend...
