Papakura Pioneer Motor Lodge & Motel — Hotel in Papakura

Off road parking out side your room, no road noise as the motels are closed in gates away from the road. Close to local town and shops. Me and my 3 children had the family room so we had plenty of space to make ourselves at home for the 2 weeks that we spent here. Available sky and Wi-Fi that kept the kids happy. Tidy kitchen with all utilities in working order. Clean and tidy bathroom and toilet, only one problem was with the shower being boiling hot and was hard to get to a reasonable temperature. Had to ask for towels and toilet paper on a daily basis which was given if you returned used towels. Bad smell of smoke from neighbours so had to close windows. But over all we had a good experience, Managers were very friendly and helpful. Felt safe here and would definitely recommend as I found this motel to be the overall best in Papakura. We stayed this weekend. They got us muddled with other customers and we had to sort it out for them. They conveniently don't speak English when things go wrong. The room was (and I do not exaggerate) gross. Mould on the curtains, the windows. Moth filled light fittings. Different colour lights over the beds. The show had a dark brown ring in the water outlet. I would not put a piece of bread near the toaster and the couch is absolutely filthy. They had free Wifi and the bed linen was clean. I do not understand how they think they have a four star rating and other clients staying at the same time had the same complaint. One lady came to our room and asked for a spare toilet roll as the people wouldn't answer the door. There was a pot outside the owners door with moulding food in it! When we arrived in reception, the lady showed us our room, then brought over a cold drink. I needed to do laundry, and the booklet said to ask at reception, so I did. As her Spoken English was basic, it was easier to take me. Again the kindness was shown she didn't charge me.||Her husband came over to our room a bit later apologising for the lateness of the milk!||Our stay there was 4 nights, each day clean towels offered. ||On the last day the amount of laundry had mounted again. It was raining, so I asked was there a drier. Sorry it's broken. But her husband came over, took the bag of dirty clothes, and to our surprise and delight next day,clean,dry and folded clothes. ||We suspect that they are new at the job, so I hope other travellers are kind to...
