Indian Bar & Eatery — Restaurant in Papakura

A very frustrating experience after being double charged by this restaurant . 4 months later and I am still waiting for a refund!

I was doubled charged while picking up food on the 28th of December 2023. After paying online and after seeing a notification that a payment was approved on their Windcave payment platform, I arrived at the Indian Bar and eatery.

A small middle aged staff member behind the counter informed me that payment was still outstanding, and that the payment online had not gone through. I informed them that I had seen payment the approval via the Windcave platform . He then went on to explain that there is sometimes a glitch in the payment system. I gave him the benefit of doubt and took the takeaway thinking I could check my account later the next day as it was the holiday period.

The next day I found out that it definitely was a double charged and contacted the restaurant via the phone.

I did this a second time. And a third time. With an excuse every time and promise of a callback.

After a third time I called again and finally got a contact of the restaurant manager. By now its already mid Feb 2024 and the manager promised to refund the balance back over the phone. I sent the account details. I am yet to receive a refund nor has the manager acknowledged any reply back to my messages or reminders.

I am therefore forced to write this out of principle and lack of care. Watch out for this restaurant’s refund practices as they will not care. I was a regular at this restaurant with my family/ friends and have had events there but will no longer be using this restaurant due to their treatment of customers and...

Well not happy this time we always go to Indian bar eatery and have their curries in takeaway never had an issue with flavours and quality.

But this time really disappointed The curry lacked the depth of flavor and ordered kadai paneer. Was sweet and hot we ordered medium and usually their curries always we ordered medium never that hot but this time wasnt expecting flvour of ketchup which makes sweet and hot which burnt tongue. I expected from a genuine Indian dish. Instead of savoring the rich blend of spices, I found myself overwhelmed by a cloying sweetness that seemed out of place. Additionally, the heat level was so intense that it overshadowed any other taste, making it impossible to enjoy the dish. Also the garlic naan were hard to chew like rubber and were not soft .

Overall, my experience at Indian Bar and Eatery was disappointing. The poorly executed curry was a major letdown, and I left feeling unsatisfied and regretful of spending my money there. I hope that the restaurant takes this feedback into consideration and works to improve the quality of their dishes in the future.

Not that I am winging but not sure why did I pay for this which was hot and not to the standard sorry bit pissed off after waiting 30 mins...
