I arrived after the usual reception closing time and i hadn''t booked a room, but the owner was understanding, and just overall really friendly. So me getting a room for the night was not a problem, i got a very fair price as well.

Motueka is a small rural/beach town. Hat Trick Lodge offers dormitory and private rooms with a brilliantly clean share kitchen and shared bathroom facilities. Graeme and Diane couldn't be more helpful and informative. I was able to do washing, prepare dinner and follow informative local tips. Everything was spotless, attractive and economical. Was able to book a room outside reception hour by calling the manager's cellphone. I was impressed by how clean the hostel was. The location is perfect, a few steps away from the main street, between the two main supermarkets, across the road from the i-SITE and right next to the Sunday market location.
