Hewling's Manor — Hotel in South Island

Beautifully clean old villa in a lovely garden setting which has had lots of work put in both inside and out. On the outskirts of town it is very quiet but still in walking distance of the town centre shops and museums. It's also a dog friendly place I should mention. The owner's own dog is very calm. As well as a pleasant bedroom and sun deck guests have a lounge , lovely older style wood panelled bathroom and a breakfast room with fridge. The rooms are full of stuff, some very attractive but also rather cluttered as there's no space to put anything in the bedroom, all surfaces are covered in decorative and antique items...

The start of our short tour of central South Island and it began very well here with a great welcome, very homely, everything you needed pretty much and in a beautiful setting. Very comfortable bed, well located for a walk into Geraldine via a short steep road, beautiful gardens and lots of interesting artifacts in the house. This is an amazing B&B, tucked away in a beautiful garden setting and still close to the township. Julie provided us with a wonderful overnight stay; going well beyond any expectation we may have had. Lovely & clean, quiet, comfy accommodation, ample afternoon tea and breakfast and off street parking. A most relaxing and enjoyable stay and one to stay at another time....
