Great hotel - if it's cold outside

Wanted to round off my tour by a nice hotel and 3 nights in Bodø. Unfortunately the hotel doesn't have air condition. It has, allegedly, some kinda ventilation. But there wasn't even the slightest breath of air coming out of that in my room. Change of room wasn't offered. A fan was given to me, the receptionists fan even, as it was the last one. I mounted that fan in the open window for two days, yet the room never got cool. Even with temps way below 20° outside.

So - yes, I get it. "It is usually cool outside here". Said the receptionist. There is no hotel in Bodo with AC she said. Yet the lobby of their sister hotel, Comfort, was conspicuously cool (as opposed to breaking a sweat coming in the door at Ramsalt) with an AC mentioned as a feature on bookimg.com. It does say the Ramsalt has aircondition on google as well.

Since I travel for work I have this heat argument permanently and I'm sick of it.

I don't understand why anyone would build a brand new hotel with total disregard to sun, heat and temperature. It's bad enough in old hotels with insufficient cooling. Now the Ramsalt is a huge dark brown building with the sun glowing onto it pretty much all day from all sides. I'm no technician, but I'm pretty damn sure this heats up the building substantially. My room had 25°C or more on the first evening with the beautiful sunset glowing bang onto the huge windows, heating them up. The tiny slit of air called window doesn't change anything whatsoever.

Cancelled my third night, cut short my stay.

Stay here 2 nights Me and my boyfriend chose to stay this hotel because I thought that a big hotel would be professional. First we check in with online already but the lady at reception still slowly gives us the key that’s fine We have the room is 9th floor, the view is good but then we went out for dinner back room around 22:00 super tired after drive 6 hrs then the Ventilation in our room is not working and the room is hot, making us feel no air in the room. I call the reception for 2 times saying we close the window like they said already but still not work, they make us wait till 23:35 to fix then man come check in our room and go back down to check something then after 10 minutes he back and say we can change the room or we just sleep with open window then we decide to change the room one man give us the new room but then my boyfriend go get card from the room and man at the reception said sorry to my boyfriend and give new room saying upgrade the room for us but then we get the same room no upgrade *(actually we don’t care about upgrade we just tired and it late and slowly for small problem to get fix) and even more disappointed Because we got a room on the 4th floor with no bin in room and next to the road and could hear cars all the time.

I hope you hear from your guests and improve it.

Loved staying here. The views were stunning - Def get a water view room if possible. The midnight sun beams in beautifully. Curtains were decent for blacking out the sun when it was time to sleep. The breakfast buffet spread is unreal have never seen so much and such a variety every single day. So impressive and really tasty as well. The restaurant was also good and great customer service that catered to my dairy allergy. Great bar service as well - bought a bottle and brought to my room. Amazing space for people to gather and chat who were part of the conference. The location is excellent if u go out the doors near the resto u will be water front and can walk down to check out great patio scenes during the midnight sun all along the marina. The only issue is the 2 water and 1pop I purchased from their canteen in the lobby came up to 650Kron which seems outrageous - would Def recommend going to the 24/hr grocer near by called joker for snacks and drinks. Also because it was a very busy week it was sometimes difficult to get thru to the front desk to get items replenished to ur room (this only a concern for those staying an extended time) - had to call twice to remind them to bring essential items to room. Otherwise the staff was all very kind...
