Walking around Bodo, I spotted the Cathedral so went in. Built in 1956, the exterior harkens back to traditional church shapes but the interior is modern. The stained glass windows really appealed to me; vibrant colors; appear up to date but not abstract. Their 36 panels are smaller sized than normal so you can focus on each panel and then look at the next one. The story-telling panels are interspersed with panels of geometric designs. It’s not overwhelming to look at and is easy to follow the story. Very well designed and executed.
The other unusual thing is that there are 10 thick woven rugs on the walls above the pews, about 5’x7’. These represent the fishing rugs that were woven by townswomen for the fishermen to take on their boats to stay warm. Several are vibrantly colored and all have patterns that reflect fishing or stages of life.
I didn’t have time to really explore the interior since today was the 1st organ concert of their summer series. I happily paid my $15 and enjoyed 55 minutes of amazing music. The guest organist was from a Paris church. Their info brochure says they have concerts throughout the year and musicians are eager...

There is a lovely stained glass window above the altar, and the cover over the font seems to be covered in reindeer hide! There is no charge for visiting the building, and there are also toilets if...
