This had been on our bucket list for over a year and we watched YouTube and then we realised we could get direct flights from Manchester to here. We was over the moon and decided to book flights then we found this hotel at a perfect price for our whole stay . This had been the final place of our travels for the year reaching the highest part of the north of the world was such an experience and achievement for us.||We did all norway and Scandinavia in the summer and here was our final holiday/journey of the year. We was over the moon with the kindness of everyone in norway again making sure we arrived at oslo safely for getting to the hotel. After 20 hours of travelling from uk we arrived we came outside to see two big buses. We was confused and didn't know how to get to our hotel, we was greeted by a wonderful local who had been here for 14 years he got us safely to the hotel.||We asked him so many questions being excited to be here no question was too silly and all was answered with no hesitation. The price for getting to hotel was not bad also. ||We arrived at the hotel to find a wonderful smiling helpful young man waiting for us and two other groups. He said please leave boots at door we highly adored this culture as we do this st home and also in east Europe. All questions was answered and the hotel decor was beautiful and reinvented full .it was fresh, clean and very warm which was a blessing from the cold air at night . ||We was told to wear bright protection vest at night to stay safe as there is alot of cars driving around we didn't mind as was free to borrow. We was ready to drop of our things and head out to explore our home for the next few days . ||The room was absolutely stunning it was freshly cleaned ,very warm and the bathroom was all brand new and extremely clean with plenty of towels. The floors was heated which I found amazing with the wet room for shower the floor dried straight away. Nothing was a proplem at the desk if we had any questions or needed any help .from the moment we arrived to every single day all the different staff was 5 star with there service, smiles and kindness. There english was absolutely amazing and that's one thing we adored just communicating with no proplem.||The breakfast was something else it was a very special spread of everything you could imagine . We was blown away with how much was available our hotel price was amazing and to see all the full English breakfast, salmon ,fruit and fresh bread was out of this world . Everything was fresh, tasty and full of flavour. Every day we enjoyed all and was spot on with no problem at all.||All staff very clean and fast at emptying our tables when finished very friendly and smiling always. ||We was able to book three different trips while our stay at the hotel through the reception which was a blessing in disguise. All 5 star service and all trips was perfect to make our stay the best of seeing all what was possible in the time committed.||We adore coming back at dinner or evenings to grab a quick coffee which was free to relax with in the chairs . Was an extremely safe area and everyone in the town was very friendly ,happy and enjoyed talking to you. All spoke perfect english. ||We will surely return again next year as location was perfect for bars ,restaurants and all shops needed by 5 minute walk.||Even loved to know there was a Co op and wine shop 5 minute aways with absolutely everything you could think of . On top of the world and this whole community of over 2000 people made it very special and out of this world for us.||Svalbard really touched our hearts with the kindness, the shear beauty and the people....
Read moreWe have booked our trip for April this year. However, due to the unforeseeable circumstances of the volcano eruption from Indonesia late last week, our flight was cancelled by the airline. And it was two days prior to our arrival. Therefore, we have no choice but to contact the hotel immediately and re-arrange our trip to Svalbard. Qatar airline was amazing! And they have successfully adjourned our booking to October this year (with minimal charges incurred only). However, we were a little disappointed with the Vault’s arrangement.||||We have immediately contacted the vault when this happened via phone, and the gentleman was extremely helpful and say this is duly noted, however advised us to email the hotel inform the situation and hopefully, we might be able to make an arrangement and delay our booking in October.||||So, we did so, we have sent numerous email to few email address, including the sales team person that we have contacted all these while.||||And guess what, at first, they’ve said they have not received the email. (Which I have proof that we have tried our upmost effort to inform the hotel with the situation) And second, advise us to claim from the travel company and due to non-received of email, and the person we spoke to, do not work in the weekend? (Our booking originally was from Sunday to Wednesday) Basically, that’s our sole problem. Worse, if we would liked to book in October, we can pay the FULL package amount again.||||Thank you the vault, but I do expect...
Read moreVisited Longyearbyen in late August 2025 with a group. I did not select the hotel but was pleased with the visit. The check in process was easy and relaxed. You are asked to remove your shoes in the entry and go to your room in your socks. Once there, you are provided with slippers to walk in. When you go out of the hotel, you leave your slippers by the front door and put your shoes back on - so you can easily change back and forth as needed. Rooms were good size and the hotel is new - no real signs of wear. The beds were comfortable. Because the hotel is so well insulated, we felt the room was a bit warm, even though the heat was not turned on. We opted to open our window to keep the room comfortable for sleeping. Beds have a fitted sheet that you sleep on with a down comforter on top - very traditional european style. Breakfast was basic and good and becomes a sushi restaurant later in the day - open for dinner. This is directly across the main street from grocery store and other shopping and dining locations - just a 2-3 minute walk. Coffee and tea always available in the lobby seating area. I would definitely...
