We have just stayed for 4 nights and Hotel Iguanito in Santa Catalina and highly recommend this lovely place. The welcome drink after a 8 hour bus journey from Panama City was greatly appreciated. The couple who own the hotel, Juan and Chris, are lovely people, very welcoming and speak excellent Spanish. English, French and German so communication was very easy. The room was very clean and spacious with excellent air conditioning and good WiFi. There is a lovely terrace to relax and a very good restaurant and bar area. Juan is an excellent chef and has a passion for cooking. We had dinner there twice and both meals were excellent, and a wide variety of choices. The best in Santa Catalina. Fantastic breakfast too. They can also fix trips including diving trips, transport and laundry, and are more than happy to help with anything you need. I cannot recommend this place...

We stayed at Hotel Iguanito which was recommended by “Diving Coiba dive Center.” The price was very reasonable; the room was large with a tall ceiling; and there was good air-conditioning. There was a nice bathroom with pretty tile and it was clean. They also provide drinking water. The restaurant downstairs is absolutely phenomenal for both drinks and food. I would not recommend this hotel for people with mobility or balance issues, because there are quite a few steps to get up to their 4 rooms upstairs and not always rails to hold onto. The shower water was not warm enough for my tastes and you will need to bring your own shampoo. Nevertheless, the owners, Juan and Chris are super sweet and accommodating…so was Reina who worked there! The hotel is centrally located, within walking distance shops, restaurants and...

I stayed with my family of 6 plus our dog. We rented 2 rooms for 2 nights, while we explored what Santa Catalina has to offer. The owners of the hotel are great. Their priority is that you are taken care of. They have a great story, and they are super chill, too. The main floor is the restaurant/bar. It is very clean and feels like you are in the middle of the jungle, in a luxurious treehouse. The food is amazing, and the owner takes such pride in how he prepares it to be the way food was meant to be enjoyed. It was great for the kids to experience, rather than getting the same boring foods at other restaurants. The sitting area upstairs by the rooms is very nice and relaxing. Bugs were not an issue here. We hung out up there while waiting for our horses to arrive.

Had a really good time at Hotel Iguanito. The owner (a German/Spanish guy), who is also an incredibly good cook by the way, told us a lot about the area and Panamian ways of life, which was super interesting. He was also very helpful with organizing a trip to Coiba, which was absolutely great (we saw wales, tons of fish, white tip sharks, turtles,...). Rooms are clean, comfy and equipped with AC. They have a beautiful porch, which was especially nice to relax on on rainy afternoons. The food they offer in the restaurant is absolutely amazing and there are even vegan options. Definitely recommend this place!

The red thai curry with shrimp was so flavorful. A delicious meal by any standards. The mahi mahi was fresh catch of the day and also very good. The passion fruit cocktails were great, because they were a bit tart and not too sweet, just the way I like them. The ambiance was very nice too. The total was around $30 for the thai curry and 2 cocktails, which is a bit pricey for Panama but I'm definitely not disappointed.
