Garden Hotel — Hotel in Lima Metropolitan Area

The main advantage of the Garden Hotel is that it is conveniently located a mere two short blocks from the Westin Hotel and Conference Centre. The area also appears to be relatively safe to walk around at night. Also comparatively inexpensive by Lima, although I personally find USD 140 per night for a couple including breakfast to be bordering on the expensive for what I would class as a 3 star hotel as best. That is over the odds in terms of price in Europe. The rooms are not at all soundproof and there is a lot of noise from the street and from the adjacent construction site - which worked all night the second night we were there. Our room was on the 6th floor, but still a lot of street noise. On top of that, the first night there was a problem with the fire alarm in the corridor, which gave a loud beep every few minutes all night. Some other reviewers have indicated dissatisfaction with the breakfast choice, we found it to be perfectly adequate. They do serve evening meals, reasonably tasty but the restaurant itself is pretty characterless. Stay here for convenience, not for the surroundings. Booked a 2 double bed room, but the staff wanted to charge $40 per night for the second occupant that used the additional bed. There were NO double beds, they were twin beds. Their best time to approach me for the extra charges was at midnight! There is no reason to book a TWO double bed room other than for an additional guest, but they insisted in charging extra.

I did a sample reserveration for two people, and it was only $4 extra, however they insisted on charging 10 times more even though my base rate was for 2 pax. When I asked where are my double beds, the guy stated that he will move me to a room with ONE double bed (which btw was falsely advertised as a king bed).

Room with a view? Nope, I had a dirty wall with fallen roofs. Baths are renovated but everything else is old, dirty and run down. Breakfast was the same every day. Rooms were noisy.

Not even close to a 4 star hotel...

What I saw in pictures is not equal to what I saw in the reality. The hotel is older. They change me 3 times because in the first room I heard a lot of construction noise at the 7th floor, important I had to carry my own bags while I was changing the room you do not receive any help. Then they gave me a room the only that was in service at the 8th floor because the noice was done in that floor all the rooms was under repair without windows, beds, or any furniture. Again I have to move to the 6th floor and stay there. The brakefast was the same the 3 days I've been there. I consider it is not a 4 star hotel maybe 3 and a little expensive for what they offer.
