Got scammed by this hotel.
Don't book. Booked a room via booking and had to pay at the reception. The reception forced me to pay 15% more. We were desperate as our apartment canceled on us last minute, so we had to pay this.
Breakfast is only until 9 in the morning, which is fine when you're here on business, but as a tourist you cannot sleep in. Traffic is really bad here early in the morning, so expect to wake up early anyway. Windows are really thin and don't close properly, so you will hear everything that's going around in the streets.
The beds are really big, but very hard. So you can expect back pain after one night.
There is no power socket in the room, aside from the old kind for the TV. If you want to charge your phone, you have to do this in the bathroom.
Shower temperature is a lottery. No matter what temperature you set it to, it can go from ice gold to boiling hot in seconds. Can be really dangerous if you have a sensitive skin.
The wifi is just an open network and often pretty slow.
One night lamp is not working and keeps flashing. We had to take the bulb out to stop it from flashing all the time.
Air conditioning in the room is great and works...

It was extremely convenient to have the free wi-fi and access to the two desktop computers in the lobby. The hotel is a short walk (Lima standards) to the department stores and is across the street from some convenience stores. Otherwise, taxis were necessary to get around but this is generally the case in Lima. The rooms were nice and the view was bright and pretty. Better English than my Spanish was spoken by the front desk staff. If I am lucky enough to return to Lima, I would love to stay at Hotel El...
