Stayed here for 1 night as I wanted to be close to the airport on the day of my flight (Lima's traffic was described as pretty bad but with that coastal highway, I think people sometimes exaggerate things). GoogleMaps location was accurate.
Honestly, I could stay more nights. Rosa's place is very clean, my bed was comfortable, the terrace was refreshing with a view of the neighborhood, the floors were spotless! The place was quiet, I enjoyed my sleep so much. Rosa was very kind if I needed help or information and she let me store some of my stuff before check in! They only speak Spanish there so just keep that in mind. Text them to reserve through Google/WhatsApp (they'll use translators if needed). The room price was decent (rooms are pretty much basic but you're not looking for a 4-star hotel right?), the taxi they offer to the airport is a bit expensive though, being very near.
I'll recommend this place for a near the airport stay. There are also many eateries within walking distance (walk towards Avenida Peru, you have many choices already, even within the interior streets). All food locals eat, and at very decent prices. I ate at LemonFish and honestly I will eat there again given the chance!
Some people (like the taxi drivers) may describe the neighborhood as being sketchy or dangerous but while it did look rough, I didn't feel anything bad. The people were just doing their business, kids walking back from school, someone playing with his dog, vendors selling fruits...it's just not an upscale neighborhood. I only walked around during daylight though. I was able to walk to the airport and a nearby restaurant without problems at all. Maybe I'll suggest don't be someone flashing expensive jewelry and you'll be...
Read moreI had a late flight into Lima last weekend and an early morning flight to Cuzco the next morning. I arrived p;retty late but the lady at the front desk arranged transportation for me from the airport to the Wasi (home in Quechua) and then back to the airport at 4am. She had water waiting for me and was very friendly. The rooms are comfortable but no air conditioning. The fan was fine as the weather was good for me in March. Taxi arrived promptly at 4am the following morning and took me to the airport. the Taxi driver (Hugo) also kindly arranged for me to take a tour of Lima upon my return from Cuzco. The tour was great, Hugo very helpful and the Peruvian Wasi a good affordable place, close to the airport to stay. Would recommend when you need to get in and out of...
Read moreExcellent affordable hotel near Jorge Cháves! I had a flight mixup and got stranded in Lima for three days and stayed here for two of them. Their service was great - very friendly and helpful staff who will help arrange taxi service to and from the airport. They sell necessities like soap and toothbrushes at check-in, bring coffee and breakfast to your room, and there is lots of great food within walking distance. The bathrooms are shared between two rooms, but everything is very clean and well stocked. You'd benefit from knowing a bit of Spanish, but mine is terrible and they made it work! Highly recommended if you need an affordable place to stay near...
