Google Maps walking directions to the accommodation are not correct; travellers cannot walk across the roundabout. When exiting the airport, walk all the way to Door 1 (International arrivals), then exit on your right and walk out of the airport parking area. Past the gate, there will be a red colour overhead bridge. Cross to the other side, then follow the footpath next to a tall wall as per Google Maps directions. The path to the hotel is paved and apart from the overhead bridge, the route is flat.
I brisk walked from here to the airport at 4:45am on a Tuesday morning and reached security clearance at level 2 of the airport at 5am. The queue was not long, but clearing immigration took longer because at least 50 people were already in the queue.
The neighbourhood was quiet at 4:45am but I did not feel it was unsafe. I had no trouble walking to the airport and decided to do so as inDrive/Uber was charging a high price of 30 soles on such a short trip - would be almost as much as going to San Isidro 30mins further away.
The accommodation was clean and check in was smooth. I booked the stay directly via WhatsApp instead to save some soles that the manager would otherwise have paid to the booking platform.
The room has a fan but it is a bit noisy. No airconditioning here of course. The surrounding neighbourhood is fairly peaceful, though there was some chatter outside until 11pm which we could hear because we kept the windows open instead of hearing the loud fan.
In the early morning do expect some noise from other guests leaving for their early flights. I was awoken by this but my wife snoozed through it.
The common bathroom consists of one WC, sink and shower. There is also a sink and mirror outside that can be used when the bathroom is locked. Everything looked clean. Four rooms share this on the second floor.
As most people have said, this place is a functional, clean stay that is within walking distance to the airport. I didn't expect much for the price I paid and was quite satisfied with what I got. Payment is possible in both USD and soles. Breakfast is also available for 15 soles, the wifi is good and the bed is firm. There is space to open small luggage but you would have some difficulty if you arrived with...
Read moreI had an excellent experience with this hotel. I needed somewhere close to the airport for a one night stay before an early flight. I found the hotel to be extremely well priced, well situated close to the airport, but best of all the staff were absolutely fantastic!!!! Very easy and quick to respond on WhatsApp with any questions. They even let me store a bag for a fee while I travelled internationally. I also had one of the best meals in Peru nearby for an extremely cheap price! The staff also offered us free tea after dinner which was so nice. I enjoyed experiencing something a little more local. The walk from the airport isn’t too far but the crossing at the roundabout with traffic is a bit scary. Either walk and be careful or just catch an Uber or taxi for a small price and be there in 5 minutes. For the price I couldn’t have asked for anything more. Thanks so much to the...
Read moreThe hostess here is AMAZING. She made sure to ask when we were coming in so she was ready for us when we got there. She was clear about checking in and everything was clean. Just like most hostels, you share a bathroom, so think about when you’re going to take a shower because you don’t want to try to shower at the same time as everyone else. This place is really close to the airport, a 10 minute walk from the airport MAX. Perfect if you get in late and have to leave early, which is exactly what we did. We ended up only being there for 4 hours, but it was worth the $17 to be in a clean, comfortable bed. There isn’t air conditioning, but the window was already open and it was super comfortable, and we just slept with a sheet. Also, the wifi...
