Negatives: Hotel is really noisy. We were woken up at 5am to music playing outside on the street. This continued until 9am. The noise was extremely loud and it would put me off staying there again. We had room 405 at the back of the hotel. The hotel is also located next to the main road so you constantly hear traffic passing all times of night and horns honking constantly.
The hotel only accepts payments by cash only. This is not noted anywhere on their booking.com or Agoda profile.
The hotels booking system showed I was a Peruvian national despite the fact my booking showed I had declared I was from the UK. I also showed my British passport at check in. The hotel forced me to pay the 18% tax on top of my booking which is only applicable to Peruvian nationals. I contacted Agoda who I had made the booking through and they didn’t understand how it had gone through as Peruvian national as my booking showed UK citizen on their side.
I told the hotel it wasn’t fair I had to pay when they had all the details showing I was a British citizen. They said it wasn’t their fault and implied it was my fault the booking had gone through incorrectly. They said they couldn’t change it on their system or offer free cancellation to allow me to book the room again.
I booked the hotel through Agoda but the hotel had received the booking on their booking.com admin portal. This doesn’t make any sense as online searches show that Agoda has their own admin portal - the hotel claimed they didn’t have access to it and don’t advertise their hotel on Agoda. This was a lie as I went onto Agoda in front of the receptionist and showed them that their hotel was on the Agoda website and was bookable.
The beds are really firm and the shower water ran cold when I used it.
Positives: The hotel offers free luggage storage if you’re doing one of the Nazca flights
The staff are quite friendly
Breakfast is an option of bread and jam and then choice of scrambled or fried egg
The room was clean and a fan was provided as there’s no air conditioning - the rooms do...
Read moreI stayed at this hotel based on previous good reviews and found it to be as described. This is a basic hotel, but there is hot water, good water pressure, and it was clean. My room didn't have A/C. Wifi is good and there is a free computer you can use, but there is no breakfast. The hotel is located on the other side of the traffic circle from the bus station, so it's only a 3 minute walk if you arrive via bus. The hotel works with a taxi driver/tour guide, but I found him to be too aggressive. Some may find these tour services very handy. As the hotel was not very full, they let me stay in my room until it was time for my overnight bus, which was very helpful. If you plan on seeing the Nasca lines and don't have a reservation, simply walk down the same street as the bus station (5 mins from the hotel) and visit the various airlines all of which have offices located near each other in downtown Nasca. This will let you avoid the pushy taxi drivers and middle-man tour operators, and you'll likely get a good price similar to what you'd pay if you showed up at the airport. Plus, you'd have a better idea of when to arrive at the airport for a flight instead of hanging out at the airport waiting up to an hour for the next flight to depart. Hotel is located less than a 10 minute walk to the main tourist street of Nasca with plenty of...
Read morePositively dystopian. Choose between:||||A) a room with a narrow window in one corner facing a shaft where natural light barely filters through a series of grimy skylights and from which a pronounced sewage odor periodically presents itself, or..||||B) a room flooded with natural light--and the constant honking from the Panamericana Highway, which is directly in front of the building, as well as various collectivo operators shouting all day and night trying to pick up fares. ||||Also, if you plan on staying Saturday night, unless you fall asleep easily to reggaeton, better bring some earplugs.||||The people who work here were all super nice and helpful, so I almost feel bad leaving this review, but I have to warn other travelers so they don't...
