I went here because it was one of the better reviewed places in Nasca — I now know why this is, and it’s not the food. Read on...
From the moment of merely walking by the restaurant to after finishing your meal, you are harassed by your waiter, who crosses into “fatal attraction” territory. The coup de grace was when after the meal, the waiter asked for a 5 star review. I though it was overly pushy, until he didn’t leave and told me to do it now, in front of him! Naturally, I refused. Perhaps consider the reviews for this place in light of the fact that a member of staff was probably breathing down the author’s neck at the time.
But here how it actually is: it’s fine. The food is quite standard, and cooked competently enough, although the chips / fries are soggy and underdone. The cocktails are also fine, but small, and definitely too expensive for what they are, around USD 2 more expensive than other similar places.
My suggestion is to go across the road to La Maison Blanche (not french, but still good). Their prices are fairer, food better, and cocktails cheaper and larger! Turn around in front of this place and...
Read moreI was asked to leave a review for this place, so here it is: Went to this restaurant with my boyfriend after I had a stomach bug. Having explained this to the waiter, I only ordered a small plate of chips and sparkling water, while my partner ordered a proper meal. Ordering was rushed because the waiter, Juan, would not give us time to consider the menu and think. At the end of the meal we were immediately presented with TripAdvisor cards and asked to leave a review. Juan stated that it should be a five-star review, which I let slide, so I replied that we would leave a review (being noncommittal about the rating). Juan then asked us to do it at that very minute in front of him. This was completely inappropriate and we said no. So, I am now leaving a review but perhaps not quite as asked: The chips were undercooked but edible and the service was irritating and unnecessarily forceful. I wouldn’t recommend this place and certainly would advise future guests, if they choose to go here, not to let themselves be bullied into leaving...
Read moreBeing new and without a clue ( so many eateries to choose from in that area ) we asked a local guide (Thanks Brady) and he definitely steered us in the right direction. We shared an appetizer- chicken and veggie sandwiched between 2 pieces of avocado. Then we shared the Asian and Peruvian style fried rice with a tall beer. Tasted excellent and just the right amount of food for less than S$ 60 tip in. Everything is spotless clean. Cloth napkins and very friendly staff. After a long bus trip you guys hit the spot ! ...
