Small comfortable hotel, 30 minutes from the airport and with amazingly friendly staff. A huge thanks to Mariella, Juan Carlos and Yolanda who were friendly, patient and fantastic at looking after us; they spoke excellent English, forgiving our poor Spanish, and they helped organise many day trips to the sights with their partner tour company and generally made our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The hotel itself is clean with decent bedrooms and modern bathrooms which had excellent hot and powerful showers! Laundry service is great and cheap so don't bother packing too much! Be aware that there is no elevator, the flight of stairs are short, but if you're not used to the altitude, climbing stairs can sometimes be a tiring affair! Buffet breakfast is nice and varied and the hotel is not only surrounded by small stores and food outlets, including a small convenience store and a seafood restaurant just opposite, but it is only a short, straight walk to the historic centre and san Pedro and Santiago squares with their wonderful markets, cafes, restaurants and myriad of stores, including an excellent Orion Supermarket (Union) just a 10 minute walk away, with an ATM in its basement. I highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Cusco, we spent two amazing weeks in a gorgeous, friendly city and beautiful country and we look forward to visiting again. |Muchas...
Read moreWe stayed at Las Quenas in June 2022 and it has been one the best experiences I've had with hotels (and I have been to many different hotel chains, family owned hotels and hostels). It was a small and quiet hotel which my husband and I love as we are quiet happy people when we travel AND their service was EXCEPTIONAL!!! The staff really took good care of us as it was our first time in Cusco - they introduced us to muna tea and gave us great recommendations and answered all of our questions. They were very accommodating and made our stay very relaxing and enjoyable even while I was getting altitude sickness. They made sure to check up on me and let me know that there was a nurse available in case I got very sick. If you like a budget friendly safe quiet place to stay, 20min walk from their center and excellent customer service then this is the place for you! Thank you Freddy and nice lady in...
Read moreThis was a good location for Cusco - only a short walk downhill to the centre of Cusco and all it has to offer. We missed our flight and arrived really late so they organised a driver to pick us up from the airport and take us straight to the train station so we could continue onto Machu Picchu. They minded our luggage until we returned and organised for the driver to pick us up from the train. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They even advised what price we should pay for the taxi. ||||The hotel was very clean and tidy, the bed was comfortable and the shower had great water pressure. The breakfast was included with a good selection of food including eggs. Tea and coffee was available free of charge at any time. Genuinely nice and helpful people.||||It is a small hotel with no lift but our bags were carried up and down the stairs...
