My husband, to daughter and senior parents in all all traveled to Cusco this October. We selected Don Peru Tours to assist with in city travel arrangements in Cusco and surrounding areas. Jorge Aquino was truly amazing, he paid close attention to every detail and executed flawlessly; from all transfers to and from the airports as well as all tours. Everything was timed perfectly and all of the drivers and tour guides were selected perfectly. Day 1 we enjoyed one of the best and most extensive tours of the City of Cusco. We were able to fit in so much in one day and they were sure to be prepared in case anyone suffered from altitude sickness. We all were very lucky to have not encountered any feeling of illness. We enjoyed Harry, our tour guide's company so much, we invited him to join us for dinner. He recommended a fantastic restaurant, Andean Grill which accommodated everyone's palate. Day 2 we went to the Sacred Valley, Village of Chincheros, Pisac and Ollantaytambo Ruins. We also enjoyed a fantastic lunch at Tunupa based on Jorge's recommendation. Harry was again our guide and is truly fantastic as well as Eduardo the driver. Day 3 was really the highlight of our trip :) We had such an amazing experience traveling to to Palcoyo to be sighed with amazing views of Rainbow Mountains, Forrest of Stones and the suspension bridge of Checacupe. Richard was our tour guide and my favorite one of all times. He exceeded all expectations, with such entertaining conversation and thrilling stories. It was a three hour drive but he was so engaging that he made the time fly by. He undoubtedly was truly amazing and probably one of the best guides we have ever had in all of our worldly travels. Our family of 6 cannot thank Jorge enough for his thorough team selection and pairing us up with the best drivers and guides for the extent of our trip. Jorge closely monitored our every move to ensure that we were completely satisfied with our experience. He even surprised us with a lovely parting gift that included local artesenal purses our daughters loved with delicious local snacks and treats. Our last day there included our trip to Machupichu which we had pre-arranged many months in advanced however Jorge was able to set up all transfers to and from the hotel to the train station with Yerson, who was also our driver to the airport the following day. Yerson was very entertaining during our 30 minute drive to and from the train station giving us some history and fun facts about the towns we were driving through. Thank you Don Peru Tours for providing top notch service, wonderful personalities ans truly an exceptional experience. Your team made this visit to...
Read moreA bizarre experience with Don Peru. I contacted them to arrange entry to Machu Picchu. They quote me the price and confirmed a date and time and took my passport details for the booking. They said they would send a payment link later.
Having not heard back from them, I contacted them the next day and waiting more than 5 hours for a response telling me that the system was down.
I heard nothing from them again until I message them around 4 hours later at which point I was informed that they'd be unable to get me a ticket. This after spending more than $500 on trains and hotels.
They told me that I had misunderstood the message and that the tickets were not yet confirmed, this was not at all clear from the messages.
Very very disappointing and did absolutely nothing to...
Read moreI pay the tour 37 dollars, but I get food poisoning the night before. So, I contact the agent, the only contact provided to me, to cancel, but I get no answer.
When the guide arrives, he only calls the owner of my guest house (who doesn't live there) and starts shouting and knocking on the door like crazy, instead of contacting me.
The following day I get the short answer from the agent: it's a no show. Which means I cannot postone my tour nor get a partial refound.
Then I book the same type of tour through my guest house for 17 dollars. The guide writes to me the night before and again before arriving...
