My friend and I did the 5 day Ausangate trek. We chose this company because it had a longer option than most others we researched. It was just us, so it ended up being a private tour. The guides were friendly and the fresh cooked meals were absolutely wonderful. However, we chose doing this trek guided for safety since we aren't used to hiking in high altitudes. Our guide did not have any emergency equipment, not even a walkie talkie. If we were seriously injured or ill, I really don't know how she would have gotten us to safety. The other 2 that took care of the mules and cooked would hike ahead of us to have camp set up when we arrived, but we had no contact with them if something went wrong. She also said day 5 lunch was not provided while it's stated that it is. So by the time we finished the hike and drove 3 hours back to cusco we were starving. The company was also very difficult to communicate with before we arrived, my friend was emailing asking questions and they were very slow to respond. For safety reasons, I wouldn't recommend this company. Please provide your staff with essential safety items! And make sure they are trained to handle...
