🌟 A Hidden Gem in Cusco: The Heart and Soul of Indian Cuisine 🌟
Tucked away in the enchanting streets of Cusco lies a culinary marvel—a little slice of India that warms both your belly and your heart. This isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a passion project crafted by a chef who came here to explore, fell in love with the city, and poured his soul into every spice and every stir.
🏠 The Journey: Our chef is not just a cook—he’s a one-man army. From scrubbing tables to perfecting masalas, he built this restaurant from the ground up. But then came COVID, threatening to extinguish the dream. What happened next is the stuff of legend: loyal patrons rallied, and a kind-hearted landlord waived rent for an entire year. This isn’t just a business; it’s a family effort.
👨🍳 The Chef and His Philosophy: He’s a perfectionist who refuses to serve anything less than extraordinary. Your preferences are his command—he’ll tweak spices, adjust flavors, and ensure every bite sings. Feedback less than 5 stars? Not happening. This man takes pride in every single plate he serves.
🍲 The Food: Oh, where do we begin? We savored Dal Fry, a soulful blend of lentils, and a Masala Sabzi bursting with spices. But the showstopper? The Alpaca Masala—a Cusco-inspired dish with the warmth of India. Every bite was an explosion of flavor. We were blown away! 💥
👨👩👧👦 The Team: The chef didn’t just hire staff; he cherry-picked a family. You’ll feel the love and warmth in the air, from the service to the food. It’s a place where every detail matters.
🙏 Final Words: This restaurant is not just about food; it’s a testament to resilience, love, and the magic of good people. If you’re in Cusco, don’t walk—RUN to this treasure.

Read moreLet me start off by saying that this is the best Indian restaurant in the entirety of Peru. And Peruvian food was hard to adjust with but as soon as we saw this restaurant on google that had high ratings our hopes were raised. We were dropped off to the restaurant and as we walked in the atmosphere brought delight to my entire families faces, the aroma made us fly around and the sense of comfort brought us happiness. The decorated and unique place had so many wonderful details that brought our trip together. As soon as we got our menu we ordered basic Indian dishes to try and see how it was going to go.. but as soon as we ordered each dish came out of the kitchen so fast and our bellies were full. The food tasted amazing the spice level was not too spicy but still had the strong Indian flavors. The food was something you cannot miss in Cusco. After we ate we met the restaurant owner and let me tell you, he was the kindest man ever. His smile and warmth brought joy to our hearts and his comfort was truly something you cannot express. The staff was sweet and kind and there was nothing wrong with the restaurant at all. You have to try it once you visit Cusco. We stayed at Cusco for 5 nights and 4/5 of those nights we ate in this restaurant, the whole family enjoyed this cuisine and we ate there most of the time. The whole family loved this place and this place was so positive. The owner Amit is so joyful and brings this place back home. Please go try Gharwal, this is a restaurant you don’t...

As someone hailing from the Uttarakhand/Garwhal region of India, my expectations were high when I visited Garwhal Indian Restaurant in Cusco. I was eagerly looking forward to savoring flavors reminiscent of home and meeting Chef Amit Rawat (Singh), a fellow Garwhali.
From the outset, Chef Amit's hospitality shone through. He was not only courteous and attentive to detail but also extremely welcoming, making the dining experience feel personal and authentic.
The food was exceptional in both quality and quantity, and very reasonably priced. Our group indulged in a variety of dishes – the alpaca Tikka masala was a delightful fusion, while the Malai kofta, naan, and gulaab jamun were reminiscent of the authentic Indian tastes I grew up with. The pakoras and lassis were equally impressive, rounding off the meal perfectly. It was a culinary journey that didn't disappoint in any aspect.
I want to extend my heartfelt wishes to Chef Amit and Garwhal Indian Restaurant. Your efforts in bringing a piece of India to Cusco are greatly appreciated. The experience was not just about enjoying great food but also about feeling connected to my roots.
Jai Hind and Bharat Mata Ki Jai. Best of luck for the future, and thank you for offering a taste of home in the heart of...
