I stayed at this hotel three or four separate occasions. I got to know David the person who supervisors both hotels el encanto and el sueño. Well on the last trip he gave me a good deal. The room was on the top floor and in very bad condition but the price was right (cheap). I stayed there for almost three weeks. I paid for 13 days the first time. When that 13 days ended he didn't tell me and didn't ask for me to pay until two days later. He then said that was a "favor to me"... I told him if he needed me to pay it was his responsibility to ask for it. Checkout time was 1 pm. I left at 1:20 pm. He proceeded to ask me to pay some sort of "propina" or tip for a 20 MIN LATE CHECKOUT! He said I owed him for letting two days lapse inbetween room payments. This is AFTER staying there for 18 days! This left me with a bad taste in my mouth. I returned to Trujillo last night. It was very late I had no place to stay. Even though i had a bad experience with this hotel. I decided to return..big mistake. I informed them of the price they were charging my on my last stay. I got up in the morning only to see David. He said the price of the room has gone up. After a heated conversationed I agreed to pay the ten extra soles. Soon after they told me it was going to be 30 soles extra. IS THIS HOW YOU TREAT A LOYAL CUSTOMER I asked David. He said we have lots of customers you're not important!! ESA actitud es la razón Perú no avance. It was horrible experience. David is a bad person that attempts to take advantage of...
Read moreThe rooms were filthy, the pillow cases were disgusting and the walls were stained with yellow stuff. There was no hot water and advertised and we were stuck in a room with no windows. The receptionist gave us false information about Huaca del Sol and Huaca de Luna just so she can sell us their tourist service. All the questions she answered were in favour of their tourist service instead of the wellbeing of their guests. In the morning, the staff is not considerate of people still sleeping and the hallways get...
Read moreThese guys really took care of me. I stayed here two nights and then they held my stuff as I went to the beach town of Huanchaco for 2 days and a night. When I got back, they had a new room all ready for me. The rooms have cable TV, private bathroom, and they are nice. The staff were very nice and accommodating to all my requests. Don't confuse it with the hotel across the street, (owned by the same people, but...
