My husband and I got a room here on a daytime layover between buses. We found this in the Lonely Planet budget options, but when we arrived, discovered that the prices had risen considerably since our guide was published (2010). We were tired and needed a place to crash, so we got a room anyway. The lobby looked very nice and clean, so we figured the rooms would be similar. Beyond the lobby, the hotel is worn and echoey. Our room was small (which was fine), and appeared somewhat clean until we discovered a used condom in the middle of the bathroom floor. Happy to not be spending the night, we chose to remove the comforter and sit on top of the wool blanket. Luckily, the place had cable TV, which was a nice feature for weary travelers. Read moreTrujillo seems expensive and lacks backpacker options. We viewed a few places after we arrived and chose San Martin because of the free wifi, the cleanest hotel we had seen, and the price was similar to others.||||The rooms are basic but comfortable. Shower has electric shower head- my husband was shocked several times! Avoid turning off the knob with wet hands.||||For 70 soles it wasn't a super deal. People were always polite and friendly to us!||||I would recommend this hotel because of the limited choices in Trujillo, but in other cities it wouldn't...
