This floating island is simply paradise, we got picked up by Armando, who is such a fantastic person. He treated us like family from pick up until we left this beautiful place on earth. It is wonderful that this family is giving travelers the chance to experience a night or more at their handmade floating island. It is not too far off from the main floating islands, but it is situated in an area with a breathtaking landscape. The rooms cannot be described, they are out of this world. Everyone of the whole family treated us well and the meals, which were included in the price, could not have been better. We did a tour with Armando to the other floating islands and one tour with the reed boat, where Armando taught us how to create an island for ourselves. He was also telling us the history of the floating islands and its people and to be honest it was really touching. We simply loved everything there and it was hard to leave this very special and unique place on earth. Thank you so much for giving us the chance to experience this, hope we will have the chance to meet again some time on our own floating island in Austria (as I got explained how to do it). ;-) Best wishes,...

From the first moment Eduardo met us at the dock we were enchanted by the warm welcome, and by the time we left we felt like family. Gloria and Eduardo have created a wonderful experience on their island: our room was spotless and cozy with mountains of blankets and duvets, and private deck with swinging daybed overlooking the lake. Composting toilet - an essential feature of lake living - was pleasant to use and no big deal. Lovely hot shower. Intimate and homey with only two rooms.|We spent three nights and were sad to leave. Another day would have been delightful. No wifi, but plenty of time to relax, read, play games and watch the light change. Breakfasts were ample and beautifully presented; lunches and dinners as well. |Our family is traveling for a year on a tight budget and staying here was quite a “splash out” for us, but we felt it was a good value with all the “extras” offered by our wonderful hosts: handcrafting lessons on a rainy afternoon, a ride in the fanciful reed boat to see how the reeds are cut, kayaks on offer, photographs in traditional Uros garb and plenty of friendly conversation. |Can’t recommend this place...
