If you are looking for a comfortable, tranquil, and affordable place to stay in the Sacred Valley, this is it. The property is small, just 6-8 rooms I think. It is located just outside of Urubamba. You will be provided directions how to get there by car or taxi.||||The rooms are really nice, well furnished with comfortable beds, linens, Wi-Fi, tables and chairs, and plenty of lighting. Our room had a wonderful enclosed balcony. What I liked were the views from the windows (all four sides had windows!), all you could see were working farms and the mountains. Everything was spotless. The tiled bathroom was spacious and had a nice tub and shower with hot water.||||The staff are so accommodating and friendly. A little Spanish helps, but not necessary. If you are driving a car, there is secure parking. One morning we had to leave around 5 am to catch a train to Machu Picchu. Niger, one of the hosts, met us as we walked down the stairs and handed us each a lunchbox since we were missing the breakfast. How sweet! This was 5 a.m.! I had only mentioned that we would be leaving early so would miss breakfast.||||The breakfast is served in a delightful room, and again spotless and comfortable. Coffee, tea, breads, jam, eggs, ham, juice, fresh fruit compote all delightfully served.||||The grounds are beautiful with lots of lawn area and flowers, it is in a rural area so no traffic noise.|| ||Very reasonable, we paid $55 a night for a triple. I booked it easily on booking.com and received an immediate response. I had a few further inquiries and they were responded to in English very...
Read moreJoel came to Cusco to pick us up. As we traveled to Urubamba he shared fun Peruvian facts, and pointed out places of interests. He stopped anywhere we asked, and at a couple places he recommended. ||When we arrived at Casa Saywa Joel father cooked us 6 pizzas in his wood fire oven. Over dinner Joel told us that everyone in the family is musically inclined. Without too much prompting Joel and his father happily pulled out their instruments and sang us Peruvian songs. ||In the morning we were amazed by the mountains towering above us. And at the top of one of the mountains Incan towers that during the solstice would cradle the sun as it arises. ||In the 3 days that we stayed Joel drove us to Tipon, the salt mines, Pisaq, and many other incredible Incan sites. Any questions that we had concerning about where to go, or about the locations themselves Joel had great advice. For example, he told us exactly how much time we would need to hike the trail at Pisaq, and were to eat afterwards. ||The actual house was beautiful and modern. We could have easily stayed for much longer, and hopefully in the not too distant...
