Expecting someone to be semi-pleasant and simply bring the food you ordered is too much for these guys. Possibly the worst restaurant experience I have had service wise, especially because the staff gaslit us about every issue instead of just fixing it or apologizing. 😅
*Update: Just an absolute lie as a response to this review, I am actually shocked! The staff were NOT at all attentive to us, our group spoke Spanish and 2 people of 4 are completely fluent. We were polite and were simply expecting a normal restaurant experience, where a waiter would come to the table and we could order and ask a couple of questions regarding the food and the wifi etc. However, that was not the case. The staff were constantly trying to leave the table fast and without helping us, and we had to call them back to the table for each question. They literally dumped the food on the table without a word and in front of the wrong person, so we assumed that the dish we received was what we ordered. It wasn't until we called them back to ask about missing food that they told us which item was which and we realized that the wrong food was given to the wrong people. We asked why they put the food in the wrong place without announcing what it was, and they said it was our fault 🤣🤣! The service was horrible and rude. We gave them many opportunities to simply apologize or be polite in and every time they took the opportunity to be more rude.
The wait staff could not get away from the table quick enough. We had to chase them down for questions we had. The correct food came to the table but every item was placed in front of the wrong person with no explanation so we were confused and didn't get the correct food. When we called the waiter back to ask where our missing items were and what we had been served they just shrugged and were not forthcoming, they said something like we should have been able to figure it out. Two of our group are fluent/native Spanish speakers so this was not a language issue. The food was fine, nothing special. The concept is cool and the area is nice. Interesting looking beverages but...
Read moreAMA Sacred Valley stands out as a beacon of triple-impact initiatives. As a private organization, AMA is committed to empowering vulnerable populations by providing training and job opportunities. AMA's dedication to supporting Andean female weavers from various communities, including Rumira, Patacancha, Pacchanta, Umuto, and Pinchimuro, is commendable. The traditional alpaca handicrafts sold here not only showcase the rich cultural heritage of the region but also contribute to sustainable livelihoods. Moreover, AMA goes above and beyond by collaborating with four single mothers from the Sacred Valley, who prepare locally-sourced, homemade, healthy, and delicious food. This initiative not only supports these women but also offers visitors an authentic culinary experience. During my visit, I had the pleasure of indulging in their hot chocolate made from 100% Cusco cacao. The rich and flavorful beverage was a testament to the quality of ingredients used. Additionally, I savored a Cusco brownie also made from 100% cacao sourced from the region. The brownie was a delightful blend of indulgence and authenticity, showcasing the essence of Cusco's culinary heritage. AMA Sacred Valley is a gem in the heart of Urubamba, offering not only exquisite handmade crafts and delicious cuisine but also a chance to support meaningful social impact...
Read moreReviewer from NYC: Beautiful beautiful restaurant, concept and delicious food. I ordered a vegetable soup which was divine. And a Verde falafel wrap, with the alkalining smoothie. The smoothie was beyond delicious. And the wrap was more like a taco--- if the restaurant is reading this, wraps are fully closed please do make it like a burrito. The dining space is tranquil. I absolutely love the connection to the community- they hire single moms to be the cooks, to support their life. And work with local community organizations for their shop- supporting the local craftswomen. And the waitresses I met were there from a Beligum University doing an abroad internship, volunteering at the restaurant whilst their experience took them into the community (as part of restaurant's mission).
For a digital nomad, I find this place cozy to work from, however the internet was too slow (11 mbps download), so a suggestion to the owner would be to upgrade, and advertise your internet speed on your website and on Google photos. If I come back, I'm def...
