RUPHAY RESTAURANTE — Restaurant in Urubamba

We were on a tour of the Valle Sagrado that took us to this buffet. Usually buffets are great for non meat eaters because we have a lot of options (yes, even here in Peru). However, totally not the case with Ruphay. Not to mention the two veggie options were boring as heck (bland pesto spaghetti and salad that tasted like it came from a package). Also, we arrived at like 1:45 for lunch and it looked like the restaurant was already shutting down, they didn't refill any of the desserts and we had to ask them to open up the lunch line again. Of course, this may totally be the fault of the tour company if they arrived later than they were supposed to, but it definitely didn't help the overall experience at the restaurant. We went as part of our Sacred Valley Tour, so the agency picked the restaurant (and I don't know how much was the specific price for the food). We went for a buffet that included hot drinks. For other drinks, it was required to pay additionally. The decoration was very nice. There was a good variety of food. I would have liked to find other options as main dishes, but it was fine. I liked the desserts, especially the mazamorra morada was very tasty. Many tourists were not even trying it, probably because no one explained them what was it (and how tasty it was). The toilettes were outside, but unfortunately when I visited the place, they were not in the best condition. Many tourists stop here during a sacred valley tour. Huge restaurant. Nice size buffet with plenty of vegan/vegetarian options. I tried to order Chicha morada as a 10.soles add on , she insisted I try the 15 soles passion mango drink which I thought was a variation of Chica morada.
