The main thing that you must understand when choosing this place is that it is not a hotel and not a hostel. but an ashram. The place is interesting and unusual and built in accordance with the knowledge of the ancient Incas. We came to Peru with the purpose of meditation and consciousness, so we place proved to be very helpful. If you travel like a normal tourist and expect comfort and everything else, you may be disappointed. The ashram is an excellent place for practices and meditations in the form of a pyramid. I suggest to meditate on the second floor. A good place for unity with nature. On the territory of the hostel is a garden, the gifts which you can eat. All buildings are non-linear and mysterious. Remember that the community - the basis of the ideology of the Ashram, so using public places do not please disturb anyone. Very pleased with the fireplace is so cozy!||In the category of our room was supposed to be a personal kitchen, which was not. You are in the ashram, your room is a cell, therefore, reduce the level of comfort. Apparently it is assumed that the meditators-ascetics have a few lagguage, so storage space is almost none. Read moreI have had the pleasure to stay at Samana Wasi twice now, and it is the only place I will stay when I visit Urubamba. Silvia and her family always go out of their way to ensure that your stay with them is comfortable and all of your needs are being met. ||I have stayed in two different rooms both with private bathrooms and both were very clean, comfortable, and there was always hot water and a fast wi-fi connection. I ate at the restaurant exclusively during my stays (and it was about 20 days total between the two of them) and I found the food to be exceptionally delicious...like, honestly, the best soups I have ever had. The portions were very generous and never did my stomach get upset. They were also able to accommodate to my vegan diet with no problems. ||While the property is more in the country, town is only a short 20 minute walk and a 5 minute drive on the moto-taxi. It's nice because the property is quiet and peaceful but also not so far from town that it's inconvenient. Also, as a solo female traveler in Peru, I always felt very safe here.
