⭐ 1-Star Review for Pension Bacolod
Not worth the money. Extremely disappointing experience:
✅ Pros:
Friendly staff: Polite and helpful, even under poor working conditions.
❌ Cons:
Dirty and dusty room: Layers of dust on furniture, curtains, and fixtures. Felt unclean from the start.
No regular house cleaning: Stayed multiple nights—room was never cleaned unless requested.
Construction noise: Ongoing work on the premises meant constant banging, drilling, and loud activity during the day.
Filthy toilet: Stained, smelly, and poorly maintained.
Cold shower: No hot water. Showering was uncomfortable and unpleasant.
Uncomfortable bed: Hard mattress, worn-out bedding, and lumpy pillows made sleep difficult.
Very weak water pressure: Shower and sink barely functioned, making basic use frustrating.
Cafeteria served only processed food: Very limited selection; mostly pre-packaged, low-quality options.
Noisy dogs next door: Frequent barking at night disrupted rest.
No safe or locker: No secure place to store valuables. Felt unsafe leaving personal items in the room.
Leaking toilet: Constant water on the bathroom floor due to plumbing issues.
Dark and unsafe surroundings: Poor lighting outside. The street felt unsafe to walk at night.
Limited power outlets: Only a couple available; not enough for modern device usage.
Terrible Wi-Fi: Unstable, painfully slow, and nearly unusable for even basic tasks.
Bottom line: Avoid this place unless you're truly desperate. Everything feels neglected, cheap, and...

In this day and age of gadgets, how can a "hotel" exist by providing just one socket for guests?! They advertised they had wifi, but when we got there they said that "suddenly" wifi was gone! What? Gone as in gone with the wind?! ||||And the "bathroom" was straight out of those horror films set in abandoned buildings! The shower? I've got goosebumps remembering I used it to clean myself!||||The "beds" were makeshift - pillow (just one) was as hard as a cement block, no blanket. ||||They have a small canteen, but the food was pricey and uneatable. Water you had to buy per cup (hot or cold). ||||The hotel is located deep inside a residential area. Maybe they want to cater to a different kind of clientele? ||||And to top it all, people working in that pension were smoking their lungs away wherever and whenever they pleased!||||Please if you have a choice, go somewhere else. Read morePension Bacolod is located in the 11th Street in Lacson. It may not be located along the highway but it has a very accessible location. It is just a walking distance from the Capitol, Negros Showroom, Calea, etc. The staff are very approachable and accommodating. The rooms are clean and spacious. The family room (4 single bed) is only Php910 per night with aircon and hot & cold shower. The only downside is the smell of the water from the faucet, it smells rusty. For those who want to travel Negros Occidental on a tight budget, I recommend you stay in Pension Bacolod, it is the most affordable among the pension houses found in the 11th street. They offer good food at a reasonbale price. Has a good customer service and...
