THE RECEPTION||Surprising good reception. Honestly, going into this hotel was not our first choice (peak season and everywhere else is fully booked). We've seen the place before on our previous visits, so we prepared ourselves for the worse -- it didn't happen. The receptionist was competent in her work and knows what to do all the time. She knew a lot of their process that she was even able to help us get an early check-in (we arrived early and was very tired). The hotel doesn't have fancy computer systems and they had to rely on "Manual" means but this lady receptionist breezed through it to be able to check us in properly -- and with a kind and polite demeanor to boot (we never got a frown). ||||THE STAFF||Very competent and veteran staff. Big hotels have a lot of OJT and young staff members. You do have to understand that they are not knowledgeable with the hotel they are in and will probably not be able to help you out of what you need except on what they are told. Marian Kisad Hotel employs what we call "veterans". They know the ins and outs of the hotel and it's process and they will be able to help you (within reason) to what you need. You will probably hear less "Sorry, No" here than in bigger hotels. ||||THE ROOMS||The room works! I agree on the other reviews on this site. It's old and basic. However, looking at it I can see the panstaking time the people poured into it to make it decent. My wife said, "the owner of the hotel didn't grew up rich". I can understand her sentiment as we saw a lot of DIY and patch work and creative use of materials that didn't cost that much but made the difference (some may look cheap though). My wife and I watch a lot of HGTV and FYI so we do notice and appreciate. ||||THE PARKING||I expected the parking to be difficult because they have a small area. I was wrong. They have another parking area just on the next lot. It's understandable that the parking slots may need to be managed to maximize it but I didn't mind. I was thankful to the lady security guard who politely helped us whenever we need to park. Again, her quaint assistance is something we never expect to see in a place like this. ||||THE LOCATION||At the end of the day, when it comes to vacationing in Baguio, it's the location that matters. This one is right in front (there is a park in between) Burnham Park. At night you can just walk to the night market. In the morning, you get to enjoy the park. In between, good cheap food is just right around the corner. Great location!||||CONCLUSION||It's not a bad hotel to stay in. It's not that costly, there is parking and the people are very helpful. If you want to save more money to put into your "pasalubongs", this will be a great...
Read moreIf this is the first time you are going to Baguio or its been a while since your last visit and you are just coming back to reexperience Baguio all over again, Then Kisad Hotel is NOT for you.||||Frankly speaking, The hotel will not give you a good overall vibe of Baguio. If it is your first time, I suggest that you really save up for it and get one of the more high-end hotel to use.||||Now if you consider yourself a Baguio veteran, a Baguio insider, someone who is going there almost yearly or once every 2 years or visited the place like 5 times, then this is the hotel for you.||||This is your "base of operation" a place for you to leave your things behind, and then a place to stock up with the things you bought in Baguio. This is a place for you to sleep in, refresh yourself with a shower, get a quick snack or just coffee, and then go out again as you explore the city. No frills, no extras, and no drama.||||The staff is great. My brother left his key inside his toyota. He called the service center but meanwhile, he tried to open the door with a makeshift wire. Instantly, multiple hotel personnel are in the parking lot and investigating his activities. I find that reassuring. The rest of the staff are courteous and professional. There is a small restaurant that offers basic food variety. kinda bland but for the price offered, it is considerably on the cheaper side compared to hotel average. The free, all you can drink brewed coffee is nice, but like others already mentioned, they only offer sugar for amenities and no cream. They also offer standard towels, and toiletries and the bathroom is clean enough. ||||That being said, there are so many places for improvement. The blankets for the bed looks like those orange floppy things normally on sale in SM stores. There are no airconditioners, I know it is in Baguio but it will still be a nice option. ||||Am I going back? If I have some business in Baguio, yes definitely. But forgive for saying this, but I will not recommend this place to co-workers, friends, and families anytime soon, because although the place is practical, others might curse me if they experience the place for...
