Booked through Agoda Room Type: Superior King with Balcony Number of Nights: 3
Booking experience: (1/5*) Already had an issue as early as this. The Superior King with Balcony has air-conditioning highlighted in the facilities list but there's actually none. This was confirmed when I called to check on my booking and was notified about it. The staff on the phone was even argumentative that they had it correct in Agoda. Well, as of this writing (06/23/2023), the room still indicates that it's air-conditioned. Thankfully, Agoda assisted me with this issue. (Yes it's Baguio and it's cold but I just wanted an air-conditioner for a drier setting and controlled temperature due to the weather during the stay.) Take note that this is via Agoda and experience could be different via other channels.
Value for Money: (1/5*) We just didn't have any choice because of an event that we have to attend here. But compared to other hotels within the area, the price to quality is terrible! Although you'll be greeted with a nice lobby and staff, the property feels really old and gloomy along the hallways. Not to mention the bad accessibility on your way to your room. More to that in the Facilities review.
Location: (5/5*) This is probably where the price is tailored at. The hotel is strategically located in the heart of the city, near convenience stores, restaurants, Burnham Park and a huge mall where you can shop for anything you might need.
Cleanliness: (3/5*) Overall it's acceptable. There's just this dark, dusty particles on the drying rack, toilet tank and a little bit on the bathroom sink that I didn't bother calling room service and just wiped them off myself.
Staff: (3/5*) Everyone never failed to greet us with their great smiles and courtesy. I just had to remove a star to the argumentative staff who handled me on the phone during my booking phase. The other star deduction goes to the staff whom we asked for assistance when we had an issue with our keycard access. We got a top-floor room and there's no elevator, front desk isn't answering the phone that time as well. We were all too tired from our tour and just wanted to get some rest. However, the staff failed to return to us to sort out the keycard problem and really had to go down to update the access.
Facilities: (1/5*) I can't believe a 3-star hotel can't have an elevator for their guests. They only offer it for their guests staying in the Executive Rooms. But at least our bags get to use the elevators right? Kidding aside, if your Baguio itinerary involves a lot of on-foot activities with a lot of terrain, don't get relieved yet upon completing the tour of the day because you'll still be facing more steps going to your room. Another thing, I haven't noticed a smoke detector inside the room and balcony. I thought it's strictly smoke-free but cigarette smoke from another balconied-room entered our room since there's no air-conditioning and windows are wide open. Also, there's a large Google TV, mini fridge and an electric fan. But the room is only equipped with one 2 gang electrical outlet inside the room and another one with the same type inside the bathroom. So fridge is in use, we need to use the electric fan, but we also wanted to use the TV. We can only choose right? No way! Just force the fan plugged in the one from the bathroom instead. But these aren't the worst part yet. Here's where safety is compromised: Their bathroom for this room type is not safe at all! This isn't even an exaggeration. The way that the floor tiles are angled towards the drainage, is just too steep and the tiles are way too slippery! This is very dangerous especially to the elderly ones! Safety handles? There's none. This needs to be remade before an...
