We arrived in Baler at exactly 9am last May 16, 2015. We have reserved an accomodation in Suclayin but decided last minute that we wanted a place nearer the beach in Sabang. As expected, there are a lot of tourists in the place and it's quite hard to find a place to stay for a night. Luckily, my sister was able to find a place that is able to accomodate all 8 of us plus and 1 kid. The guests in that room will be vacating the place before 12nn so we felt lucky. We parked our cars and paid the full price for the room. It was quite pricey, we didn't expect much but a place to stay where we can rest comfortably. While waiting, we are at Bayler's view and had a drink at Costa Pacifica so we can have pictures taken as well. We went back to Pasilyo lodge at exactly 12nn but the owner told us that the room is still not ready and her staff are still changing bedsheets in room #4. At exactly 12:45, we were able to go in. We got excited as there were enough beds for us all. We saw the a/c unit was just .5 hp and thought it would be impossible for it to make the room cold. And we were right, not only did the size of the a/c unit is not enough but it wasn't cooling at all. At first, we thought that maybe it is summer and it would take a long time before the air cools but hours passed and it did not. We tried telling the owner but she wasn't accomodating our concerns at all. She even told us that we should have told her ahead of time or requested to be transferred to another room. But how would we do that if we were told in the first place that that's the only room available? We asked for another electric fan and we were given one that is barely working as well. We had a baby with us and we pitied her as she's sweating as all of us did. That night, we tried talking to the owner but she cannot be seen anywhere. We then had one of her staff look at the a/c unit and we were advised that their maintenance staff lives from another town and will not be able to attend to the a/c unit or fix our concern. The next morning, we went to the owner again and told her our concerns but she just shrugged her shoulders off. She said that the a/c should be turned off because it has been running for 3 days straight! (Oh, is that our problem? As an owner, you should also know how to maintain and improve your services. It was just as if she did not hear anything. She didn't even offered for a refund or at least just let us pay for a price of a fan room instead of an a/c room because that is what we got. She even told us that the electricity in Baler is pricey, that we should be turining off the a/c unit so it will work well. We did actually, but nothing happened because there is really something wrong with the unit, the thermostat keeps on turning on even if the room is not cooling and it makes weird sound, it is like it would take off. We just opened the windows and the door of the room so that there would be fresh air since it's already like sauna inside the room. We realized that the owner is only after the money, that once you have paid the full amount, you no longer exists, and your concerns will just be ignored. It was a total waste of time and money to stay in that place. They have a swimming pool which has lots of sand and the water is already green because it has lots of moss (lumot). The door knob of the cr also needs to be changed. The owner isn't accomodating, she's only nice when you're still inquiring but once she gets the money, you no longer exists. Beware of this place, 4,500 pesos is not a small amount and there are still better place out there. Never again will we go back to Pasilyo...
Read moreIf you're looking for an accommodation near the Sabang beach then this is the right place for you. Best for backpackers since the rooms offered has basic amenities: CR, Aircon, Electric fan and bed. A little bit pricey when we were there since its summer time. They don't have an in-house resto but there are lots in the area. I find the beds not too comfy so if you're looking for a good bed's rest then its better to look for other accommodations. The CR don't have mirrors so better bring one. The owners, especially Christian (son of the owner) is very accommodating. I requested for a bath towel and additional blanket and he gave...
Read moreOur stay with Ysraela was a blessing in disguise. It was not our first choice with Asiatravel since the first two accommodations we booked were not confirmed. Luckily, we found out that its location was just right at the back of Costa Pacifica & Bays Inn about 2min walk. The Persons-in charge with Ysraela were accommodating. As to the rooms, we had rooms 5 (double bunkbed with extra mattress) & 6 (double bed) which were huge enough for short stays though toiletries and towels were not provided but that was ok for its price. The hotel has common area for watching TV and cooking. Overall, we were satisfied during our...
