Yellowfin Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Baler

If you're on a budget, this is the place for you. It has value for money with good amount of serving. However, we personally didn't like the taste. The grilled liempo is too fatty, we weren't able to eat all, too bad, it was seasoned really good. We also ordered nilasing na hipon (shrimp) which is too dry and undercooked that it tastes too fishy (malansa). Lastly, we ordered ensaladang talong that took a while to be served. It was okay. Rice is good, it's white and soft. 😅

There was a soloist performer but she sings out of tune. 😭😭

While we were waiting for our orders, my partner was stunned to realize the cat by his feet was playing with a big dead rat. 😭😭😭😭 This was at the second floor. We immediately called the attention of the waitress to clean it up but they didn't do anything so we moved to another table.

It's never my intention to bad mouth any establishments that I review here in Google, but it's to help travelers like me find insights based on my experience. It can be different for others (as I see here, most people enjoyed the place). Unfortunately, it wasn't a match for us...

EVERYTHING IS BAD. They did not issue receipts. I also had a glimpse of their KITCHEN DOWNSTAIRS, MAN, IT WAS LIKE A STOCKROOM, WITH MUDDY WET FLOORS, VERY DIRTY SPACE. Oh my goodness me... They need to overhaul most of their system. You start with the LONG LINE to order food. Their system is very manual. You have to wait for 30MINS IN LINE TO JUST ORDER YOUR FOOD. When you order they write it on paper multiple times, so there's one paper for all your orders, then they write on another sheet your order of grilled food pass it on to the grillers, then another for orders of drinks, then pass it on to the bar etc. WAITED FOR 2HRS to get my grilled liempo, then when it arrived it was STONE COLD & RAW (see photo) . They changed it quickly. The food started arriving with 30mins interval each! Super lousy! Then the drinks came incomplete. FOLLOWED UP A HUNDRED TIMES (of course I am exaggerating but it did feel like a hundred times!) for the drinks only to be told that they ran out of it! NO APOLOGIES given, they just said it's not available anymore and they will just refund....

Not a lot od options to eat around the area and this one was opened, filled with people and there's a live band. We got the pork bbq and the sizzling blue marlin with mango shake and a few beers.

The blue marlin was good. The pork bbq came with 6 sticks in a serving so that was surprising but the meat was so tough and gummy.

Service was BAD. At the counter, they seem to be in disarray. We went up to find a table and a lot of the dirty tables has been left uncleaned. They dont seem to be understaffed. There's about 5 people at the counter when we arrived. I helped myself with the utensils and tissue at the cabinet. We were served our beer without the opener. The staff just left and I went ahead and checked the other empty, dirty tables for it.
