Montebello Hotel is truly one of those places that leave a lasting impression not only because of its beautiful surroundings but also because of the warmth and care of the people who work there. From the moment you step inside, you feel welcomed—not just as a guest, but almost as part of a family. The combination of delicious food, excellent service, and a relaxing atmosphere makes Montebello stand out as one of the finest destinations for both leisure and dining.

One of the highlights of staying at Montebello Hotel is definitely the food. The hotel offers a wide selection of dishes, ranging from classic Filipino favorites to international cuisine. Every meal feels thoughtfully prepared, and you can immediately tell that care has been put into both the flavors and presentation. Whether you are enjoying breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the experience is consistently satisfying. The ingredients are fresh, the portions are generous, and the balance of taste is always just right. For those who love exploring local flavors, the Filipino dishes are particularly well done, showcasing authenticity while still being approachable for guests who may be trying them for the first time. Meanwhile, the international options provide variety, ensuring that every palate finds something enjoyable.

But great food would not feel complete without equally excellent service, and this is where Montebello Hotel shines even brighter. The staff are genuinely kind, attentive, and eager to make guests feel comfortable. They greet you with smiles, remember small details about your preferences, and are always ready to assist without ever being intrusive. This level of hospitality elevates the entire experience—it transforms a simple meal into a moment of care and a hotel stay into a memory worth keeping. Their professionalism is balanced with warmth, which makes the atmosphere feel less like a formal establishment and more like a home away from home.

Beyond the food and staff, Montebello Hotel’s overall ambiance adds another layer to the experience. The surroundings are serene and relaxing, making it the perfect spot for unwinding. The mix of greenery, elegant interiors, and a calm environment sets a peaceful mood, whether you are there for a short visit, a family meal, or an extended stay. It is easy to see why many guests return—not only for the good food but also for the sense of comfort and belonging that the hotel provides.

In summary, Montebello Hotel is more than just a place to eat or stay—it is an experience that combines great flavors, genuine hospitality, and a soothing environment. The food consistently delights, the staff’s friendliness and dedication make you feel valued, and the ambiance ensures relaxation. For anyone seeking a place where quality meets heart, Montebello Hotel is a top choice. It is the kind of place that makes you want to come back, not just for what it offers but for how it...

Spanish style accommodations complete with machuca tiles, manicured expansive lawns of San Franciscos and Bougainvilleas and ornamental trees, bridged pond with mallards (lots of open spaces so you won't feel boxed-in despite new developments and constructions mushrooming around the property), 2 pools (a lap pool and a freestyle, with good depth) wonderful glass-walled resto and a buffet breakfast with variety, right at the HEART of the metro! Staffs were unobtrusive but friendly and always smiling. At room 2309, once the shower goes hot, there's no turning back to lukewarm or cold, it'll stay scalding hot so be careful. And birds nested on the bathroom window (permanent wooden slats above the toilet), so you'll be hearing chirping nonstop while you're inside the loo. Gym was satisfactory but unmanned so you might ask for help if you're unfamiliar turning on machines (threadmill, bike, stand-up aircons, lights). There are gym towels and water dispenser but no paper cups so bring a waterbottle or an emptied plastic water bottle to refill from the dispenser. Pool guards (gradual depth up to 6th feet on both pool) and pool towels are available. If you don't have a private car, going out from the entrance lobby to the main road involves a bit of a walk but manageable, otherwise, Grab rides are readily available and allowed to enter until the lobby entrance/reception (pick-up 2; as opposed to pick-up 1 which is near the gate entrance). Front desk personnels need to be more fluent and adept in communicating; and more flexible (I was 2 hours early but I did indicate a request for an early check-in in my booking) as receptionist said I need to pay an additional 1/2 of rate of a 1 day stay if I wanted to be brought to my assigned room right there and then! I vehemently and vigorously answered "NO!" and refused that offer. The hotel was not even full and busy, it was unusually quiet even. I used it (projected imaginary charging) instead to have a relaxed lunch at their resto, and that was a great lunch (pumpkin soup, calamari, a glass of white, then brewed coffee)! I will, very likely, consider...

Really wanted to love this hotel. BUT... First the positives... It has the vintage charm of Old Cebu. Only 2-stories high, it is set within expansive grounds and like a little oasis within the city and is unlike the newly-opened hotels in Cebu. The reception is open and airy, Spanish colonial style antique/antique-style wood (and modern) furniture in the public spaces through-out. Our room was well-done with a great walk-in shower. The pools are beautiful and so are the gardens. Staff is gracious and there are quite a lot of them so the hotel is super-clean and tidy. Unfortunately if you think that this is quiet oasis, Montebello is also quite a PARTY VENUE. Parties are organized in several indoor and outdoor locations within the hotel. LOTS and lots of parties happen at the same time! As a result, being "just" a hotel guest feels like you come second. NOISE IS AN ISSUE! Rooms surround various party locations so there is no escape or relaxation. The party guests add even more noise. They don't care that you are sleeping - banging doors, shouting in the hallways, blenders whirring, music blasting ALL NIGHT. Plus there is a nice eco-feature that reminds you to take the key out to turn all power off that beeps incessantly when the doors open. We stayed 2 nights and they were both terrible due to our lack of sleep. Calls to reception went unanswered. Maybe they found quiet places to sleep? Their saving grace was the staff. The pool guys were lovely and when they found out my parents were married at the hotel over 40 years ago and that we were going to have dinner at the restaurant, they informed the restaurant and they made the dinner a little special. But note: though the staff is plentiful and everything is clean, one has to actually get their attention to bring the menu; come back; clear the plates when you bring more; come back as we may need more. Every step. Maybe a little more pro-active training with wait staff and front desk staff as...
