Staying at Jah's place is really nice, for what it is. The rooms are quite small, but very clean. The only complaint is the shower has low pressure (probably beyond their control), but at least they have a heater to make it bearable. They are right in the center of downtown Moalboal, which is not much more than a large village really. There is a place to shop for groceries and other items, not far as well. A mini-fridge is also available upon request. They have a mineral water dispenser for coffee/tea as well. They will even cook for you, which is nice.
If you are a back packer/diver, looking for a comfortable place to lay your head for a few nights, this is a great place for that. They also have great deals for those who want to get certified in diving too. If you want to get open water, or advanced open water certied, they have courses that include a free room for the duration of the training. They also have fantastic teachers and of course, Moalboal is rated one of the best diving areas in all of the Philippines. For those who are not already certified, the price in the Philippines is so much lower than most of the western world. Once you are certified, the price per dive is almost half what it is, for beginner divers, and you get to dive more interesting locations as well. It truly is a divers paradise!
If you are looking for that 5 star hotel resort, I don't think this is the place for...
Read moreThis place was definitely one of the best stays on our backpacking trip! The owner (Jah!) informed us that he was new to the guesthouse business - he is doing an amazing job! Upon our arrival, Jah was already waiting for us on the property and greeted us by name. The property had a small cute yard which led to individual bedrooms. Each bedroom has its own porch table/chairs and drying rack. We were happy to see how clean and new the unit was. He definitely spent the money on the rooms to make it comfortable for guests (A/C, hot shower, good wifi connection on the porch). He gave us tips on where to go (food, drinks, beach, arranging excursions, diving, island hopping, etc.) and he also provided his own motorbike rental at a reduced rate then the other rental places found in town (which is about 8 min trike ride). He wasn't serving breakfast yet at the time of our stay as he was in the middle of renovating his kitchen to do so. He replenished our towels/toiletries on his own without extra charge. My boyfriend was even invited to play a friendly pickup game of basketball one evening with Jah and his local friends! Great fun to watch! Definitely recommended for couples! Thank you Jah, for your amazing hospitality! Wishing you all the best for your family and business!! With love,...
Read moreOutstanding host and lovely accommodation! I stayed at Jeru's place with my boyfriend for 3 nights, and we had the best time. Our room was very clean and the outdoor area was nicely decorated and well kept. We rented a motorbike from the host, which was so useful, and it was only a short ride to the beach, restaurants, and tour agencies. I would really recommend staying here if you want a very relaxing stay with great suggestions from the host who grew up...
